Living the life
It was on a Monday morning, I woke up late, a bit tired. I looked up and saw Mrs Lora my mom's personal assistant. She was standing beside my bed. Good morning ma Mrs Lora said. I was still confused not know what was going on I got up from the bed immediately. Good morning Mrs Lora "I greeted". Ma you have to take over from where your mom stopped she said. Take over what. Should I say I was confused or just acting dumb.
" Ember" she called out you really have to take over "Everything fashion", I mean it's been five months your mom passed on and you are the right person to take over. I never agreed to that, I mean you are there so you can do the work perfectly, besides you've been with her all these years.
Ember, this is your mom's company we are talking about, so get up, and get dressed everyone is waiting for you.
I can't even make my own choice, what ever. I took my bath, get dressed and headed to the car , after about thirty minutes drive we arrived at "Everything fashion" one of my mom's biggest fashion company in Nigeria.
Indeed everyone were waiting for me I was a bit out of it because I have never been in a position where both the young and old look up to me . I entered the company, good morning ma, good morning ma, I heard from different angles.We entered the office of the CEO, it was a big one I mean I have never entered any of my mom's fashion company before. I settle down only for Mrs Lora to call me "madam" come and address the board of directors. Me! I replied not knowing what to say. Yes ma.
When I entered the meeting room I quiet for a moment. It was indeed a big company, both white men and women where members of the board of directors. I was a bit shy, then I told myself Ember, use your magic. Immediately I put on a smile, " good morning everyone" I said and they all replied good morning ma.
My name is Nwadike Ember and I'm the daughter of late Mrs Nwadike Joan and I will take over and I want all the support and care I will get from everyone of you. "Umm " she clears her throat. I won't run this company the way my mother did , she said, before now everyone of you work with out resting, but I'm not my mom you know "all work no play makes Jake a dull boy . We will be observing all the holidays so everyone of you can have time for ur family.
I, Ember will not be traveling up and down to over see the work in other branches, that's why we have various managers at various branches. For a system to work, the components unit must function well. Yes I'm the CEO, but I can't be everywhere at a time so no time to lazy about. Work starts by 8am and closes 6pm .
Everyone one started clapping, she made way for her office . Nice one Ember you just won the heart of the people, that was what your mom ought to do . You know i have my life to live I'm just 16th and I have to enjoy while I'm still young . I won't over work me she said..
