Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Leaving the Island

"Ada, why are you blushing?" The morning sunlight shone on the newlyweds' faces as they looked at each other.

"You little rascal, I didn't expect you to be so bold," Ada said playfully.

Heh, Liu A'dou realized for the first time that he was still a virgin before marriage. While he often admired beautiful women with his eyes, Liu A'dou was truly only appreciating them. It was only in front of Ada that he felt the urge to give everything up. Perhaps that's what love was. For now, Liu A'dou felt a warm glow in his heart and even entertained the idea of abandoning everything to live forever with Ada in this peaceful paradise.

Fortunately, Liu A'dou's heart was strong, and he had not forgotten his goals. He still had to go to New York and continue his activities as Kaitou Kid. It was time to say goodbye to Paradise Island.

Ada Wong, being a Saint herself, was sharp as ever. Despite the night of celebration, she was quick and efficient when it came to getting up. Liu A'dou, Ada, Diana, Elsa, and the still unconscious pilot were ready to go, but the stealth fighter only had two seats.

Hippolyta had dispatched three stealth jets. One was for her daughter, one for Liu A'dou, and one would return to Paradise Island after dropping off the others. Everyone was ready to depart.

Diana wasn't surprised to see the stealth jet. With her Lasso of Truth and the wondrous Zeus Gauntlet made from pieces of the broken Zeus Shield, plus her star-forged armor that seemed exposed but protected her entire body, what was so strange about an invisible jet? To Diana, this was no big deal.

"Mother, I'm leaving!"

"Hippolyta, her only advice to her daughter was, "Wherever you go, always remember the honor of the Amazons."

"I will, mother!" Diana replied.

Hippolyta's final words to Liu A'dou were, "I trust you. I hope you can help us as much as you can."

"Respectfully, Hippolyta, I will. The Amazons are my family," Liu A'dou replied, unbothered by having yet another group of strong women as his family.

To get to New York, they first needed to stop by Gotham City to take care of a few matters.

The pilot was sent to Gotham Central Hospital. His injuries were more spiritual than physical. While his brain had been healed by Ripple, he had yet to wake up. He needed professional care, and a hospital was the best place for him.

Liu A'dou also slipped into Rachel's room. It still looked the same as when he visited her before. The flowers on the table had been replaced, and Liu A'dou knew Harvey had been visiting her regularly. They were a pair of star-crossed lovers—though Rachel hadn't died, she could not respond to Harvey's calls.

It was time to put an end to it. Liu A'dou stood at Rachel's bedside, hands raised. With both fingers, he struck sharply upwards from just beneath her ribs.

Rachel's mouth suddenly opened, and the air from her lungs was expelled in an instant. Ripple flowed into her lungs, traveling through her bloodstream and reaching every part of her body. A long breath—longer than she'd ever exhaled, even during swimming.

As the Ripple entered her, the injured areas rapidly recovered, her nerves reconnected, and her consciousness gradually returned. The flowers in the room seemed to regain life, with the green leaves bright and the petals full.

Rachel's breathing became smoother, and her complexion grew rosy. Liu A'dou knew it was a success—Rachel had recovered.

Liu A'dou smiled slightly and took a card from his jacket pocket. "I'm not like the selfless Lei Feng who does good deeds anonymously, so…"

He placed the "Kaitou Kid was here" card in the flowers. Liu A'dou knew Harvey would surely find it.

Rachel woke up, startling the attending doctor, who immediately began a full examination. The final conclusion was that she had healed and could be discharged.

Harvey, upon hearing the news, was overjoyed and burst into tears. Though only a few months had passed, the worry of possibly losing his beloved had tortured him. Today, that agony was finally over.

"Harvey?" Rachel was surprised to see Harvey burst into the room. When the doctor had examined her earlier, she had an idea that she had been unconscious for a long time, but she didn't understand all the details. She didn't know that Harvey had been waiting for months.

"The patient is in very good health. You can talk to her now," the doctor said, wisely stepping out.

Harvey gave Rachel a long-awaited hug. "Rachel, I'm so happy. I can finally talk to you face-to-face again. I've missed you so much."

"Harvey, I'm happy too, I'm so glad to see you again," Rachel replied. "Tell me, how is the Joker doing?"

"Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, you've missed a lot," Harvey laughed. "But we're not in a rush. We have plenty of time, and I'll slowly tell you everything."

"Harvey."

After everything they had been through, this couple finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Harvey absentmindedly touched Rachel's hair, and his gaze unintentionally shifted toward a vase. There was something white stuck among the flowers.

Reaching into the flowers, he picked out the strange object. Upon seeing the Kaitou Kid card, Harvey immediately understood—Kaitou Kid had been here.

"Is there something in there?" Rachel asked, curious about what Harvey had found. When she looked closely, a strange expression appeared on her face. "It's a Kaitou Kid card. Why would his card be here?"

"Kaitou Kid healed your wounds," Harvey said, his voice filled with gratitude. He had always believed that Kaitou Kid would find a way, just as he had once told himself. "He really did it, Rachel. We owe Kaitou Kid a favor."

Rachel replied, "Not just one. He also saved me when the Joker kidnapped me."

"I know. It was he and Batman working together that captured the Joker and saved our lives."

Well, this couple owed Kaitou Kid quite a bit, but they knew that someday, they'd have a chance to repay him.

"Ada, where have you been recently? Do you know how worried we've been?" Harvey asked.

"Sorry, Sheriff. I was suddenly called in for an FBI closed training session, and I didn't have time to tell you guys," Ada replied.

"Are you going to be transferred to the FBI? You're such a good officer, it would be a loss to the police force if you left," Gordon said with regret. He knew Ada was excellent and had been hoping to groom her as a successor. He didn't expect Ada to be so quickly scouted by another department. "I believe you'll shine no matter where you go."

Ada smiled but didn't respond. The FBI training was a lie. Getting into the FBI was out of the question. She would continue to pose as a police officer and work in New York City, maintaining order, rooting out crime.

New York was far more complicated than Gotham, filled with mutants and all sorts of chaotic powers. It was a hundred times more complicated than the mafia-dominated Gotham, and much more dangerous. But it also meant that Liu A'dou would face more challenges and create even more exciting moments.

However, before they could depart for New York, Diana suddenly went missing. This led to the kidnapping of Wonder Woman, setting off the series of events that followed.
