Chapter 29 - Chapter28; The woman in the forest

Anya was about to step into the room when she remembered something and quickly turned to face Julian. Julian looked confused as to why she turned back, wondering if she forgot something, but before he could ask, she was quick to speak. "I think I know the solution to this." "Solution?…to what?" he asked confused. "To the portal issue, how about we contact the woman who sent me here, she should be able to send me back." "Woman? What woman?" he asked.

"Well I don't really know her, I've only met her once… or twice or…. Well I'm not really sure, anyway, she was the one who sent me here. Do you know anything about her?"she asked

"Well, I don't, but I will check with Asher," he said.

"Okay, thanks," Anya said as she turned and stepped into the room.

As she entered the room she went ahead to take her bath and get ready for bed.

....

As she layed down waiting for sleep to take her , her thought turned back to the woman who had sent her through the portal. She wondered if the woman could really help her return home. She hoped she could because she really missed her family.

While she was lost in her thoughts she her a knock on the door.

"come in " she said

Asher appeared in the doorway, his expression thoughtful. "I'm sorry if I disrupted your sleep but I have to talk to you about something ".

"No it's okay I wasn't even sleeping. Please tell me what you want to say is about the portal?."she asked

" Yes" he said. " we've been researching the woman who sent you through the portal. We think she might actually be able to help you get back home."

"Anya's heart skipped a beat. "Really? Can we find her?"

Asher nodded. "We're trying. But in the meantime, we need to focus on keeping you safe. The Shadow Court is getting restless."

Anya's mind wandered to the ball she was supposed to attend. She missed her family and friends, and the thought of missing the ball was becoming unbearable.

In that moment , Julian entered the room, his eyes meeting Anya's. "I've been thinking," he said. "Maybe we can use the ball as a distraction. We could sneak you back home during the chaos."

Anya's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea!"
