Chapter 11 - Sonia is not qualified to be among the cast for this movie

Sonia covered her face, suddenly letting out a hiss, seemingly in great pain.

However, when the staff approached to ask, she shook her head and gestured that she was fine.

"Sonia, come here..." Colton's expression darkened when he heard the noise.

Although he could walk with great effort, he wasn't agile enough to rush on stage, but his expression was extremely cold.

"Jennifer, know when to stop."

"Being an actress is hard work, and suffering is a part of it.

Today is just a test of the drama, but CEO Redford is already so worried..."

Jennifer raised an innocent eyebrow, sarcastically saying, "It would be better to let Miss Cindy quit the entertainment industry earlier and marry into a wealthy family to be a rich lady."

That slap was already in the script, and Colton had just asked Nelson to investigate it.

Therefore, he couldn't react immediately, which made Sonia uncomfortable.

After all, Sonia had just mentioned she was only here to 'sit in.'

But as Jennifer was obviously being difficult with Sonia, he couldn't just sit back and do nothing: "Producer Luke, what do you think of Cindy's performance?"

Producer Luke had been restless since the slap rang out, and upon being asked by the big boss, he quickly stood up and wiped his sweat: "Well... As a newcomer actress, Cindy's acting skills are still moldable."

Sonia took an ice pack from the staff, pressed it on her face, and walked to Colton.

Upon hearing this, she shook her head: "In terms of acting skills, I'm far from the great Sunshine!"

Nelson looked at her meaningfully after hearing that: How did these words sound like they were deliberately said for CEO Redford to hear?

Producer Luke awkwardly laughed: "Sunshine is the screenwriter, and all the characters are in her heart.

It's natural for her to portray their essence..." Colton's gaze fell on her cheek, with the ice pack pressed against the light yellow bruise.

Jennifer was ruthless and showed no respect for others!

Colton held Sonia's hand, comforting her softly: "Since both the director and producer think highly of your moldable acting skills, why not try out for the leading female role?"

He calmly said to Producer Luke: "GN can add an additional 500 million investment."

Producer Luke was flabbergasted, his mouth wide open: "F... Five hundred million?"

Although the crew was ambitious and wanted to win awards with this film, the current investment they managed to secure was only around 300 million.

As expected from the President of GN Corporation, he is truly extravagant! Competing in financial power?

Jennifer wasn't afraid of that.

She rolled up her script, her gaze cold, "Director Louis we had an agreement beforehand.

As the scriptwriter, I have the right to choose the cast.

If the investors want to interfere and randomly insert people... I'd rather throw this script away and discard it like trash."

Producer Luke's face instantly turned awkward.

He had heard that this golden-screenwriter had a temper and lots of rules, but he didn't expect her to openly challenge GN Corporation's President, Colton!

Colton slowly stood up, his legs slightly bent, walked slowly but powerfully towards Jennifer, then leaned over and stared down at her, his aura overwhelming,

"Even if the script is yours, the success of a film doesn't entirely depend on the script alone... If you really have the ability, you can also provide the crew with 500 million!"

Jennifer suppressed the bitterness in her heart - the boy she had thought about for more than ten years, her beloved, was now embarrassing her in public for the sake of her enemy...

She looked at Colton's handsome and indifferent face, her gaze growing colder by the inch, "Is 500 million a lot?"

The crowd stared at her incredulously: even as a top-tier screenwriter, you can't just casually ask for 500 million as a joke!

Sonia hurriedly stepped forward, standing between the two trying to mediate: "Sister...where did you get that 500 million?

Don't let your pride lead you down the wrong path."

She gently tugged at Colton's sleeve, "Colton, you know full well the situation of Sister's family...don't make it difficult for her!"

Although Colton couldn't see Jennifer's expression, her tone earlier was certainly not one of pride in the spur of the moment; she seemed truly capable of providing 500 million! "Even if you're a top-tier screenwriter, there's a limit to your income."

He coldly 'looked' at Jennifer, as if he could see the two flames burning in her eyes, "If you really can casually pull out 500 million, the relevant authorities should investigate whether the money is clean or not."

Jennifer didn't hesitate to retort sarcastically, "So, President Redford assumes that under the heavens, only you have the brains to make money effortlessly?"

After a pause, she disdainfully glanced at Sonia, "The results of this drama are clear for all to see.

If Miss. Sonia insists on letting investors interfere and slapping herself in the face...then let the chickens fly and the eggs shatter, let's go our separate ways."

With that said, she took her script and left, her departing figure exuding an air of sharpness.

She left the awestruck crowd in the room wondering how strong Jennifer truly was.

Sonia had spoken beforehand, so naturally, she couldn't force Colton to get involved.

"I'm sorry for causing everyone trouble... It's my lack of skill that I lost to my idol.

Director Louis, I hope there will be opportunities for us to work together in the future."

She held back her tears and left the audition room in a hurry, forgetting that Colton was still behind her.

She ran into the restroom, closed the door, and turned on the faucet.

Colton stood outside the door, listening to the continuous sound of water in the restroom.

His fingers tightened inch by inch, "Nelson, Cindy has put in a lot of effort for this play.

This time, it was Jennifer's sinister intentions.

The original outcome shouldn't have been like this... She doesn't want to cause me trouble, but this time I want to help her."

He couldn't let Jennifer hurt Sonia any longer. He had to show her some colors.

Nelson hesitated to speak: Even though Jennifer deliberately made things difficult, it was also due to Sonia's lack of skill.

At least, Jennifer didn't play dirty tricks behind the scenes and won against Sonia fair and square!

Colton lifted his hollow eyes, his expression cold: "Stop Jennifer, I want to have a word with her."

After the two left, the restroom door slowly opened, and Sonia leaned against the wall with a faint smile on her lips. ...

Just as Jennifer was about to drive away, a Rolls-Royce suddenly drove to the entrance of the garage, blocking her path.

She was so startled that she quickly slammed on the brakes, hitting the steering wheel hard with her stomach cramping in pain.

The baby... Jennifer quickly calmed herself and waited for the pain in her stomach to subside.

Then her anger surged, and she slammed the car door, walked to the front of the Rolls-Royce, and fiercely kicked the windshield: "Get out!"

The driver, Nelson, was startled, fearing her kick would shatter the glass and crush his face.

The car window slowly rolled down, and Colton's icy handsome face entered Sonia's sight.

With an emotionless expression, he rested his chin on his hand, "Jennifer, name your terms."

"What?"

Jennifer restrained the urge to pound his handsome face, particularly careful not to use her hand to protect her stomach.

She felt that Colton's eyes seemed strange.

She deliberately straightened her back and sarcastically said, "Colton, is this your idea of playing murder - getting rid of your ex-wife for your current one?"

She tried to hide the abnormality in her stomach, not knowing that since Colton found out she was the famous Sunshine, he became unconsciously curious about Jennifer.

Just now, he deliberately had Nelson rush out to test her on the matter of the child.

At that moment, he saw from inside the car how Jennifer once again protected her stomach in the critical moment...
