Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Madness of the Stone

As a seasoned security officer with twelve years of experience, Wang Jun'an had always upheld a strict code of conduct and exhibited exemplary professional habits.

Thus, even after his shift had ended, he took it upon himself to patrol the exhibition hall once more, ensuring that all security systems were functioning perfectly.

Among the exhibits, the two exquisite jade stones from Myanmar were naturally his primary focus.

These high-quality gems had been specially rented by the organizers, with insurance fees alone amounting to three hundred thousand. To safeguard them, the organizers had implemented a full suite of surveillance systems and infrared security devices, sparing no expense.

And because of this, Wang Jun'an, as the head of security, dared not let his guard down. His routine three daily patrols had become a habit he never broke.

On this night, only when he was certain that everything was in perfect order did he change into casual clothes and head out, briefly briefing the other guards before riding his motorcycle home.

However, what Wang Jun'an failed to notice was the group of shadowy figures lurking in the grass along the roadside, observing his every move...

"Done, got the number!" A few minutes later, Nono, grinning with excitement, waved the screen, "I told you, any phone number within my radius of several hundred meters, I can sense it all. Believe me now?"

"Believe your head!" Cheche spat disdainfully, reminding him of the crucial matter, "Did you learn that guy's voice?"

"Of course!" Nono smugly waved, and then mimicked Wang Jun'an's voice, "I'm a genius, how hard could this be?"

With such self-praise, Nono didn't forget to dial the number, initiating a conversation with the guard at the gate: "Xiaolin, there's an electric scooter by the bushes. I found it this morning. Move it to the exhibition hall... Yeah, just leave it next to the control room. I'll check it tomorrow morning."

"Electric scooter? Move it to the exhibition hall?" Xiaolin seemed puzzled, but upon seeing the familiar number on the phone, he hesitated, then nodded.

Moments later, the battered electric scooter appeared outside the control room. Xiaolin clapped his hands and called to his colleagues inside, "Pumpkin, Thin Guy, keep an eye out, don't let anyone snatch it!"

Disinterested, Pumpkin and Thin Guy exchanged glances and rolled their eyes. In their minds, that dilapidated scooter was likely to be ignored even if left on the side of the road.

Saying that, they returned to their posts, and as the sky grew darker, the exhibition hall returned to its calm.

However, as the moonlight grew brighter, a few figures silently crawled out from the scooter's trunk, crashing to the ground with a thud.

"Damn it, why do I always have to be the cushion?" grumbled Guoguo, the first to hit the ground, as he wobbled toward the control room.

Perhaps hearing something strange, Pumpkin and Thin Guy stood up simultaneously, exchanging glances and tightening their grips on their batons.

But just then, a voice rang out at the door, reassuring them, "Pumpkin, open the door, I need to talk to you for a bit!"

"Seriously, Xiaolin's such a chatterbox!" Pumpkin sighed and reluctantly opened the door.

Seconds later, he froze, completely dumbfounded. The door was empty, not a single soul in sight. "Wait, this..."

Instincts honed by years of training kicked in. After a brief moment of shock, Pumpkin immediately reached for his baton.

But at that very moment, a voice echoed from above: "Hey! Little beauty, come give me a smile!"

Almost instinctively, Pumpkin looked up, and in that instant, a rice cooker came crashing down from the sky, slamming into the ground!

"Damn it!" Thin Guy, standing behind Xiaolin, spun around in alarm, desperately lunging for the panic button.

But just as he was about to press it, a shadow shot up from the ground, accompanied by a faint electrical buzz, and Thin Guy followed in his companion's footsteps.

"Yay! Done!" The trio cheered as various appliances merrily stomped over them, with Guoguo striking a cool pose.

Next, Beben, having successfully entered the control room, hopped onto the control console and connected to the computer. In an instant, the indicator lights flickered wildly, and a flood of virus codes began surging into the system.

"Done!" a few minutes later, Beben announced triumphantly, "But the infrared system is not controlled here, so I can display it, but I can't disable it!"

"No problem, just lock the surveillance footage!" Guoguo waved nonchalantly, inwardly thinking, You've cracked everything, what am I even playing at?

"Okay," Beben replied with a nod, obediently starting to capture the surveillance footage and transmitting it to the control rooms throughout the exhibition hall.

Two minutes later, all the control rooms were infected... In other words, even if Nono and the gang were now dancing the hula, no one would notice the disturbance in the hall.

Need I say more? With years of dreams as a master thief finally within reach, Guoguo let out a piercing scream and dashed out the door: "GO! GO! GO!"

In fact, had it not been for Cheche blocking the way, this overly excited fool might have crashed straight into the exhibition hall.

Had that happened, to quote Guoguo himself—what was supposed to be a technically savvy theft would have turned into a clumsy robbery!

"Idiot, watch out for the infrared!" Nono sighed in exasperation, quickly opening the scan map provided by Beben. "Listen up, now I'm in charge—first, move two meters to the left... Idiot, that's the right!"

Having worked together for years, Nono and Cheche had their first realization: their teammate was hopelessly directionally challenged, the kind who couldn't tell left from right.

And as Guoguo continued to look around aimlessly, Cheche finally threw up his hands in surrender and muttered, "Moron! Looks like I'll have to bring out the secret weapon!"

Seconds later, an odd item—a piece of lingerie—was tied around Guoguo's left side.

Nono sighed in relief and gave another command: "Alright! Now move two meters towards the lingerie... Thank God, you didn't mess it up!"

As it turned out, lingerie was indeed quite a magical object, as Guoguo, after some deft dodging, managed to reach the glass display case.

Nono breathed a sigh of relief, whispering, "Forget the security devices, just swallow the whole display case... Wait, I need to do something first!"

Before Guoguo could open his lid, Nono seemed to remember something and skipped back to the entrance of the exhibition hall.

In the astonished eyes of Guoguo and Cheche, Nono casually picked up a red brick and began writing on the wall: "Well, it's not every day we get to do this, might as well leave some mementos."

"Despise you!" Guoguo grumbled as he opened his lid and swallowed the glass case before the alarm system could trigger.

Then, smugly, he bounced back the way he came.

Watching this, Cheche finally let out a long breath of relief: "Thank God, this idiot didn't screw up!"

In fact, Cheche's relief was premature—just as Guoguo soared over the tiles, the lingerie slipped loose and fell away.

In that moment, Guoguo, who had almost escaped, suddenly froze, his expression turning strange as he abruptly turned around...

"Damn it!" Cheche's angry shout echoed, but it was too late. Guoguo, without a second thought, leaped into the air.

Very well, in midair, he executed a perfect 360-degree spin, successfully catching the lingerie, but completely losing his balance...

With a loud crash, the unfortunate rice cooker hit the floor, but at least it had secured the lingerie: "Mine! Mine! My beloved... huh?"

In an instant, the piercing alarm blared through the sky, so loud that even Nono, writing his little tribute, flinched.

Cheche sighed, no longer concerned about the infrared, and gunned the front wheel of the motorcycle, charging into the exhibition hall and scooping up the still-giddy Guoguo.

Simultaneously, dozens of security guards appeared in the distance, their police dogs charging ahead of them...

"Mine! Mine! I love dogs..." Clearly, Guoguo still wanted to run toward the dogs, but Cheche wasn't about to give him the chance!

"Boom!" The forceful gust of wind propelled the Dodge Viper into the air, soaring impossibly across a distance of several meters.

Then, in the astonished gazes of the security team, it soared once more, like a high jumper clearing the walls!

"Uh, does this thing belong to a kangaroo?" Xiaolin, leading the security team, was completely bewildered. But their astonishment was far from over—

"Goodbye, don't bother seeing me off!" From the Dodge Viper, a cheap phone screen gleamed, and a relaxed voice called out, "By the way, on that wall, I left you a gift!"

"On the wall?" The guards exchanged confused glances, instinctively turning toward the wall, and then they were completely dumbfounded.

Where once a pristine white wall had stood, it was now covered with sloppy, crooked characters, some in traditional Chinese: "I shall come under the moonlight," "Stealing is shameful, but robbery is glorious," "I won't tell you
