Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Ex Calibur

Following the direction of his gaze, the live satellite image displayed a massive meteorite—nearly the size of a small moon—plummeting toward Earth at an incredible speed. Its descent was once deemed unstoppable, a cataclysm in motion. Yet now, it was being slowed, even halted, by a roaring golden torrent of energy.

"This… this is impossible…"

The senior officials of Country M and the attending observers were rendered speechless.

They had no idea what to say. No contingency plan prepared them for this sight.

They never expected the so-called Goddess of Judgment—a mortal girl by all accounts—to actually stop such a force of nature.

This power...

In that instant, a chilling thought passed through each of their minds:

If she ever turned against Country M… who could possibly stop her?

But regardless of their fears and political calculus, Bella's focus never wavered. Her magic power was being unleashed continuously, a shining torrent of golden energy surging from her body, colliding with the meteorite. A drop of sweat slid from her temple, but she ignored it entirely. Her silver teeth clenched tightly, eyes narrowed in unwavering concentration.

She was under tremendous pressure.

The nearby town had already been razed to the ground by the shockwave, yet she paid it no attention. Compared to the kinetic impact of the meteorite, the town's destruction was trivial.

What mattered was the energy contained in that rock—a kinetic hammer of extinction.

But it was not beyond her power. Not yet.

She could feel it—bit by bit, the immense energy pushing the meteorite forward was being eroded. Her golden torrent gnawed away at it with tireless consistency, reducing the destructive momentum with each passing second.

Soon.

Very soon.

The fiery shell around the meteorite had already been extinguished. Its outer crust was being stripped away, layer by layer, under the continued assault of Bella's magic. In less than ten seconds, the meteorite's overwhelming momentum vanished entirely.

Bella's eyes lit up with fierce determination.

A spark of light danced in her pupils.

"Drink!" she shouted with a final burst of energy, her voice fierce and resolute.

With that, she summoned the last of her strength, her magic power erupting like a dam bursting open. The golden torrent surged once more, reaching even greater magnitude.

A thunderous explosion echoed through the sky.

The meteorite, already cracked and weakened, finally reached its limit. The pressure overwhelmed it.

Cracks spread like spiderwebs across its surface.

Then it shattered.

With a thunderous rumble, the enormous meteorite broke apart, fragments scattering like shards of glass caught in a blinding golden explosion. A beam of pure light pierced the sky, and in its wake, the meteorite was obliterated—disintegrated into fine dust, swept away by the wind.

The sky trembled, and the heavens were torn open.

Light poured down to the earth in radiant columns.

Just like that, the extinction-level disaster had vanished.

Gone without a trace.

Boom—!

Bella's legs buckled as the last ounce of her magic drained from her body. She dropped to one knee, creating a shallow crater beneath her from the force of the impact. Her great black sword—the Black Oath of Victory—remained firmly planted into the ground, and she leaned against its hilt for support.

Without it, she would have collapsed entirely.

Wisps of blue smoke hissed from the sword's surface, the air around it shimmering from residual heat. The temperature was still high enough to melt steel.

Her breath came in ragged gasps.

Huff… huff…

Sweat dripped from her forehead, evaporating the instant it touched the searing ground, releasing thin trails of steam.

Bella's magically altered face—once radiant and sharp—was starting to fade. Cracks in the illusion revealed her true face beneath, pale and fragile, yet still holding together through sheer will.

"Damn… that was hell," she muttered through clenched teeth, voice shaky.

"This time… I really overdid it…"

Burning through all her magic in a single go was a terrifying thing, even for someone with her resilient body. Had she been any weaker, her organs might have shut down on the spot. Her internal systems had taken a beating, and her limbs were trembling from exertion.

Even so, the pain was real.

Her consciousness wavered, vision blurring, mind going fuzzy.

But even in her fragile state, she smiled faintly.

She had done it.

A short distance outside the ruins of the town, the Avengers—Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, and Steve Rogers—who had been bracing for impact while lying prone on the ground, were finally able to lift their heads. The shockwave had passed.

They peeked upward, eyes scanning the sky now free of threat.

"She… she actually did it?" Barton mumbled in disbelief.

Tony let out an involuntary cheer. "Wow! That was insane!"

Barton, Natasha, and Steve all stood slowly, glancing around the area.

Where there had once been a town, now there was nothing.

The buildings had been leveled. The trees were scorched to ash. A massive crater marked the epicenter, stretching wide and deep. The impact hadn't even landed—this was only the collateral damage from her magic.

It was like a nuclear bomb had gone off.

Barton exhaled sharply, then forced a laugh. "Seriously… what's the difference between that and an actual warhead?"

Their tones lightened now that they knew they weren't dead, but Natasha didn't smile. Her expression darkened with realization.

"That girl…" she whispered.

Without another word, she broke into a sprint toward the crater.

Steve quickly followed. Tony activated his thrusters and soared into the air. The closer they got, the hotter the air became.

The magical energy had compressed the air into a superheated blast zone—hotter than molten lava. Even now, the residual heat remained well above tolerable levels. Any ordinary human would have been vaporized just by approaching the epicenter.

Even with S.H.I.E.L.D.-grade Kevlar suits, the team members felt the heat biting at their skin.

Tony reached the crater first, hovering above it.

And what he saw made his heart drop.

At the center, Bella knelt alone, motionless, her sword impaled in the ground before her. Her head was bowed low, shoulders slumped. The very image of someone who had given everything and had nothing left.

"J.A.R.V.I.S," Tony called, panicked.

"Yes, sir. Scanning now…"

A moment later, the AI replied grimly.

"The ambient temperature is too high for a full bioscan. I cannot confirm her current life signs."

Tony cursed. "Damn it!"

"Tony! What's her condition?!" Steve's voice crackled through his comms as he approached the rim of the crater.

"She's alive—I think," Tony replied. "But she's not moving."

The suit's repulsors fired again, and Tony dropped gently beside her. He crouched down, lowering his voice.

"Hey… hey, can you hear me?"

Bella didn't respond.

He knelt closer and touched her shoulder. She shifted her head slightly, just enough for him to glimpse her pale face.

Her skin had lost all color.

Her normally brilliant eyes were unfocused and dim.

The powerful warrior—who had moments ago obliterated a planet-killer meteorite—now looked like a fragile girl on the edge of collapse.

"Hey…" Tony said gently, more like a whisper now.

Bella blinked slowly, struggling to remain conscious. Her lips parted, and her final coherent thought drifted across her mind.

This was so stupid… I'm never doing this again.

And then she blacked out.

"Tony?" Natasha's voice echoed again from above.

Tony looked up.

"She passed out. I'm bringing her up now."

Despite the scale of what had happened, the world remained largely unaware of the meteor's fall.

The entire area had been locked down in advance. Hundreds of miles surrounding the impact zone were evacuated, and civilian access was strictly prohibited. Only a handful of blurry, shaky phone videos existed—and those were swiftly scrubbed from the internet by S.H.I.E.L.D operatives.

Later, country G was forced to issue a formal statement, and S.H.I.E.L.D took the lead in calming public concerns. The event was written off as a classified military accident, with "no confirmed casualties" and "no lingering radiation."

No one would know that a single girl—a mortal wielding divine power—had saved the world from annihilation.

And for the time being, Bella remained unconscious, recovering from her battle with the heavens.
