Demon King—the ruler of Hell, the embodiment of ultimate evil.

"Is this really the Demon King?" Tony muttered skeptically, the white lines on his armor glowing softly with energy.

The others didn't respond, their attention fixed ahead, tension thick in the air.

Bella, watching their reactions, couldn't help but shake her head slightly. These guys still don't understand. If this boss-level entity actually wanted them dead, the current Avengers wouldn't even qualify as appetizers. In front of such a cosmic threat, they were barely background noise.

Bella stepped forward, pulling her black-bladed Oath of Victory sword from the ground. Her boots clicked against the cracked pavement as she walked calmly to the front of the group.

A slow, aged voice drifted through the air, carried on an unnatural wind.

"I'm curious," the voice said, not lacking in gentleness despite its demonic origin. "There exists such a powerful being on this planet... and you've killed my son. As a father, I must mourn."

The voice was calm, almost soothing—completely different from the malicious growl one might expect from a demon.

Bella sneered, eyes narrowed. "If I hadn't seen you watch him die with my own eyes, maybe—maybe—I'd believe that mourning act."

From the very beginning, Bella had sensed something off. It wasn't until she purified the Witch Heart Demon into a Soul Stone that the faint, passive energy signature around her shifted. That subtle movement, almost unnoticeable, confirmed her suspicion.

Someone had been watching them—closely.

And to get that close to Bella without being noticed? That narrowed the list of suspects drastically. Only beings on the level of a Sub-God Father—or even a God Father—could manage it.

If it had been someone like the Ancient One, Bella wouldn't have sensed a thing. That level of magic was beyond even her perception. But the signature didn't belong to the Ancient One.

It was Mephisto.

The Demon King had not come in person, of course. Demons were masters at concealing themselves. His true body couldn't physically enter Earth so easily—not without consequences. That was how she caught the clue: the presence wasn't strong enough for a full manifestation. Just a projection. If it had been his true form, even Bella might not have survived the encounter.

Still, she gave credit where it was due.

If this had been me from a few months ago, Bella thought, I wouldn't have sensed a thing.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Mephisto applauded with eerie delight. "Impressive. Very impressive. Your soul, your strength… they're extraordinary. Tell me—do you seek to understand the truth of this universe? Eternal life? Power beyond your imagination? All of it can be yours. Just sign a contract with me."

He wore admiration on his face, but his glowing eyes betrayed his true thoughts—greed.

Bella's soul was unique, one in millions of years. If Mephisto could obtain it, or even enslave her as a demonic vassal, the power he would gain might rival even cosmic entities. A girl like this could reshape hell—or destroy it.

Too bad for him, Bella wasn't buying.

A contract with the devil? Bella nearly scoffed. What am I, a Disney protagonist?

She didn't need eternal life gifted from some twisted Hell King. Her growth came through battle and self-discovery. With each challenge, she evolved. Her power would continue to scale endlessly. Sooner or later, she would stand at the Level God Father tier and above.

Even Mephisto was only a stepping stone on that path.

As for eternal life? Her path of evolution would extend her lifespan naturally. With each level she ascended, her existence would surpass mortal boundaries. By the time she reached the peak, she would outlive Mephisto himself.

So no—Bella didn't even bother answering.

Her contempt was evident in her silence.

Natasha Romanoff, watching from behind, let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. The others weren't surprised either. Tony and Barton had seen Bella in action before—they knew she wasn't the type to be tempted. Even Captain Rogers, who had only recently learned her story, could tell she was someone with deep convictions.

And people with convictions don't sell their souls.

Mephisto didn't seem disappointed. In fact, he wasn't expecting a yes.

"You truly are fascinating," he said softly, eyes wandering across the war-torn ruins around them. "What a beautiful world… such a pity."

He exhaled as if relishing the Earth's energy, yet lamenting his inability to claim it.

That made Tony frown. "What's he talking about? A pity?"

Mephisto's expression was thoughtful, but tinged with annoyance. He seemed to fear something—or someone. The Goddess of Judgment? No, it wasn't her. Then who?

Bella knew the answer.

On Earth, two guardians had always defended against threats like this.

The Ancient One—Earth's Sorcerer Supreme—kept the Dark Dimension at bay, constantly battling Dormammu's looming threat.

And Odin, the King of Asgard, who once ruled the Nine Realms.

At his peak, Odin was a terrifying force. Even the Celestials feared him. Compared to that, Mephisto was a nuisance. Only after Odin's power began to wane and he entered his long slumber did entities like Dormammu, Mephisto, and the others start eyeing Earth more boldly.

If Odin were still at full strength, Bella mused, this demon wouldn't dare peek at the planet, much less show up.

The Ancient One had held the line ever since, but even she was growing weary. No wonder she was preparing to pass on the mantle.

Someday, Bella would take up that burden too. Once she reached Level God Father, Mephisto would be the first target on her list.

These thoughts flowed quickly as Mephisto smiled faintly and said, "Let me see… why you were favored by Asgard."

Suddenly—

Boom!

The gentle, human-like demeanor vanished. His eyes erupted with hellfire, a horrifying sea of writhing souls reflected within them. The air turned to molten pressure.

The very wind howled in pain.

A tidal wave of demonic energy rolled across the land, slamming into everyone like an invisible mountain.

Rogers, Barton, Natasha—even Tony—all groaned as the pressure pushed them to their knees. Cracks spiderwebbed beneath their feet.

The force was suffocating.

Rogers, ever resilient, gritted his teeth and reached for the Holy Light Stone weapon behind his back. But Bella moved first.

BOOM!

Her right boot slammed into the ground. A golden light burst outward like a volcanic eruption, sweeping across the battlefield. The shockwave shattered the oppressive force Mephisto had unleashed.

Behind her, the others felt the pressure vanish in an instant. Their lungs drew breath again.

Bella raised her sword—the black blade infused with divine light. Holding it with both hands, she pointed it directly at Mephisto.

Then—slash.

A searing golden arc of energy, dozens of meters wide, surged forward like a tsunami of judgment. It tore through the air, creating a thousand-meter-long ditch in the ground.

Mephisto's smug face finally twisted.

This light—this aura—it's like the holy fire of the Vatican. It burns... it hurts.

The golden slash hit him like a celestial blade. He barely managed to dodge the center of the blow, but the energy scraped across his form and left a sizzling mark.

RUMBLE!

The impact didn't stop there. It continued past him, demolishing the cemetery behind, then smashing into a distant mountain. The mountain split in half like paper under a blade. Rocks, trees, and rubble rained down the slopes as echoes of the impact rippled for miles.

Dead leaves danced through the air, falling like golden ash on either side of the ruined town road.

Tony, now back on his feet, stared ahead in disbelief.

A path of absolute destruction stretched out before him—wide, deep, and seemingly endless.

That's power, he thought. That's real damn power.

And Mephisto… was no longer smiling.
