In the Land of Earth, on a certain battlefield, the sounds of slaughter rose from all directions, with countless flashes of fire and explosions echoing across the terrain.
Scores of Konoha ninjas were spread out, relentlessly clashing with Iwa ninjas in every direction.
At the center of the conflict, over a hundred Konoha ninjas gathered, including Yūhi Shinku, Hyūga Hizashi, and others.
"Rotation!" Hyūga Hizashi unleashed the Hyūga clan's signature technique, deflecting countless attacks with a spinning defense before charging forward, swiftly eliminating an Iwa ninja.
Yūhi Shinku wove genjutsu, silently felling numerous Iwa ninjas who perished without realizing their fate.
Aburame Shibi's insects swarmed relentlessly, their attacks drawing screams of agony from the Iwa ninjas.
An intense battle was unfolding here.
"I never expected the Iwa ninjas to launch such a full-scale assault." Yūhi Shinku said, regrouping with Hyūga Hizashi and the others.
"Indeed. Could it be that their constant scouting of this battlefield was to locate our headquarters?" Hyūga Hizashi mused.
"They've deployed a massive number of ninjas, tightening the encirclement and gradually narrowing the area until they found us." Yūhi Shinku said, his expression grim. "This approach must have cost them countless lives in the early stages. It's as if they don't care about their losses."
"Are they planning to resolve this battlefield as quickly as possible?" Hyūga Hizashi asked. "We're fighting on two fronts now, and it's clear our forces are at a disadvantage."
"I didn't expect Ōnoki to be so ruthless, willing to sacrifice so many Iwa ninjas to achieve his goal." Yūhi Shinku remarked.
"Then Tengen's mission to provide reinforcements is likely a trap." Hyūga Hizashi said gravely.
"Most likely. Tengen's Mangekyō Sharingan allows him to take on numerous opponents. If he were here, the Iwa ninjas wouldn't have such a clear advantage. At the very least, we could maintain an even footing." Yūhi Shinku said, deflecting a kunai thrown by an enemy ninja.
"Tengen should be fine. After all, he possesses the Flying Thunder God Technique."
"Damn those Iwa ninjas. This time, Konoha might truly lose."
"But even so, the Iwa ninjas wouldn't have the strength to invade the Land of Fire in the short term."
"Who knows what that Ōnoki is thinking?"
The Konoha jōnin continued their discussion amidst the chaos.
The Konoha ninjas fought on, but their numbers were clearly dwindling, forcing them to retreat inward from all sides, consolidating their forces.
Just then, Yūhi Shinku's expression shifted as he spotted a large group of Iwa ninjas approaching.
"Another Iwa unit." Hyūga Hizashi said, his face darkening.
"Konoha ninjas, this time victory is ours." The lead Iwa ninja declared, calmly observing the Konoha forces.
The Iwa ninja naturally recognized Yūhi Shinku, Hyūga Hizashi, and the other Konoha jōnin, as the two sides had clashed repeatedly over time. Each village made it a point to study the other's strongest fighters.
"We haven't lost yet. If Tengen returns, our chances of victory will rise again. We just need to hold out." Yūhi Shinku said steadily.
"Haha!" The Iwa ninja laughed. "Pinning your hopes on a mere kid? Have your years been wasted on foolishness?"
"Age has nothing to do with strength." Yūhi Shinku replied calmly. "We believe in Tengen's power."
"Believe in Tengen? Even if your precious Tengen shows up, I'll say it now, Konoha will fall. Do you really think you can turn this around?" The Iwa ninja sneered. "I have hundreds of Iwa ninjas behind me."
"Is that so?" Hyūga Hizashi retorted with a cold smirk. "If that's true, why bother with a diversion to lure Tengen's unit away?"
The Iwa ninja's expression stiffened. Truth be told, they feared Tengen, whose proven combat record was undeniable. Even with the Tsuchikage himself planning to ambush Tengen, they weren't confident they could defeat him. That's why they were so focused on locating and crushing Konoha's main forces. If they could break Konoha's army, Tengen alone, no matter how powerful, would struggle to shift the tide of the battle.
With Konoha ninjas present, they could track Iwa's movements at any moment. If Tengen were relied upon too heavily, gaps in their defense might allow Iwa to invade the Land of Fire, a disastrous outcome.
"Enough talk. Whatever the reason, we'll make sure every last Konoha ninja stays here." The Iwa ninja bellowed.
As he prepared to order his troops to advance, a subtle distortion rippled in the space beside Hyūga Hizashi. Two figures materialized.
"Tengen!" Hyūga Hizashi exclaimed, his face lighting up with surprise and relief at Tengen's timely arrival.
"Tengen?" The Iwa ninja's expression darkened significantly.
The Konoha ninjas broke into smiles. Tengen's presence was like a pillar of strength, calming their nerves on this chaotic battlefield.
"So, who was it that said they'd leave all of Konoha here?" Tengen's gaze locked onto the lead Iwa ninja, sending a chill through him.
"Tengen, are you alright?" Yūhi Shinku and the others asked.
"Let's put that question aside for now. First, we deal with the Iwa ninjas and end this battle." Tengen replied.
"You think you alone can change anything?" The Iwa ninja said, his face twisted with disdain.
"Alone? Then I'll start by handling these skirmishes." Tengen said, forming hand seals. Dozens of identical Tengens appeared beside him, then dispersed toward other parts of the battlefield.
"Shadow Clone Technique, and so many of them." The Iwa ninja muttered gravely. "But that must have drained a lot of your chakra."
"No, these aren't shadow clones. They're Multiple Wood Clones." Tengen said with a smile.
"Now, witness my new jutsu, one that will bury the nearly thousand ninjas here." A massive surge of chakra, reminiscent of a tailed beast's, emanated from Tengen.
"Wood Release: Advent of a World of Trees."
