Slaying hundreds of Suna-nins single-handedly was a feat that sent shockwaves through the battlefield.
These ninjas knew the Sand forces consisted mainly of Chūnin and Jōnin, no mere cannon-fodder Genin. Their prior clashes had already proven Tengen's prowess.
"Tengen, using that Susanoo must be exhausting, huh?" Jiraiya remarked.
"Haha, Perverted Sage, Orochimaru-sensei, my apologies." Tengen said with a laugh, dispersing his Susanoo. His Mangekyō Sharingan faded, and he landed lightly on the ground.
"By the way, Tengen, why tell Orochimaru about your Sharingan but not me?" Jiraiya pressed.
Tengen glanced at Orochimaru, smiling. "Perverted Sage, I didn't want you to worry. I'm not an Uchiha, yet here I am with a Sharingan."
"What's that supposed to mean? The Uchiha can't just claim you!" Jiraiya said. "You've got the Mangekyō, something they don't even have. It's like a slap in their face. Thinking about it makes me want to laugh."
"Alright, I forgive you." Jiraiya added. "You kept it secret because it'd be hard for me to hold it in, right? You only revealed it now because your strength backs it up."
"That's right, Perverted Sage." Tengen admitted with a nod.
"Haha, that's my Tengen!" Jiraiya laughed heartily. "You've done a great deed this time. I wonder if that Kazekage survived."
"Congratulations, Tengen. You were outstanding." Orochimaru said from the side.
"Thank you, Orochimaru-sensei." Tengen replied.
"Tengen, you're impossible to read. Are you still holding back some strength?" Kushina asked, eyeing him curiously, trying to discern something.
"Oh, Tengen, what happened to Shukaku, the One-Tail?" Jiraiya asked, puzzled by the absence of the massive beast.
"Right here." Tengen said, opening his palm to reveal a small orb encased in golden chains, with wisps of black flames inside. A miniature Shukaku roared within.
It was sealed again, by Tengen's formidable sealing technique.
With his Uzumaki heritage, Tengen was naturally adept at sealing techniques, not to mention the array of seals he'd acquired through video signals.
"That seal looks complex." Jiraiya observed, studying the orb.
"It is." Tengen said with a smile. "This seal has a specific release method. Forcing it open is nearly impossible, and even if someone managed, the Mangekyō power I've infused inside would be too much for most to handle."
Tengen glanced subtly at Orochimaru, whose eyes flickered, sensing the words were meant for him.
"Here, Perverted Sage, take it." Tengen said, tossing the orb to Jiraiya.
"Careful! What if it breaks? Shukaku's no joke!" Jiraiya caught it gingerly, tucking it away.
Tengen gave a wry smile. As if his sealing technique would break so easily, impossible.
"Survey the battlefield, then we head back." Orochimaru ordered with a wave.
"Yes, sir!" The Konoha-nins dispersed, scouring the area for anything of value. However, the battlefield, ravaged by Susanoo, yielded little of use.
It was soon confirmed that Kazekage Rasa and the puppeteer Chiyo had survived Tengen's onslaught.
Yet, this battle was a resounding triumph for Konoha, with Tengen alone eliminating hundreds of Suna-nins.
Moments later, Jiraiya and Orochimaru gave the order to return. Tengen and the others vanished from the battlefield.
Not only had Tengen secured the ultra-clear video signal, but he also obtained the half of a Dragon Ball video from defeating Shukaku. He was eager to discover what these videos would yield.
Meanwhile, Rasa, Chiyo, and a handful of surviving Suna-nins reached Sunagakure's encampment.
"Kazekage-sama, Chiyo-sama!" The Suna-nins noticed their battered leaders. Behind Rasa trailed a dozen survivors, the fortunate few from the massacre.
"Find a medical ninja and send them to my tent." Rasa said, taking a deep breath as he headed to a large tent, his resting place.
"Yes, sir!" A Suna-nin hurried off to fetch a medical ninja.
But news travels fast. Word of Rasa's crushing defeat and the loss of hundreds of Suna-nins to Tengen spread through the camp, sparking fervent discussion and deepening their fear of him.
Tengen wielded divine power, akin to the legendary Uchiha Madara.
Later, the Suna-nins breathed a sigh of relief when they learned Tengen had left the battlefield, heading toward the conflict between Iwagakure and Konoha. The camp erupted in cheers.
Tengen's overwhelming strength, demonstrated by Rasa's defeat and Shukaku's sealing, cemented his name across Sunagakure.
Tengen had achieved fame in a single battle.
His power was unmatched in Sunagakure.
In Kazekage Rasa's tent, a medical ninja spoke. "Kazekage-sama, your external and internal injuries have been treated, but you'll need time to recover."
"Understood. You may leave." Rasa said, waving a hand.
"Yes, Kazekage-sama." The medical ninja departed.
Rasa's body was wrapped in bandages, a testament to his wounds.
"Tengen." Rasa muttered, his face grim. This defeat would make him a laughingstock in Sunagakure.
"I must… I must find a way…" Rasa's eyes burned with both killing intent and fear.
He knew, deep down, that the gap between him and Tengen was a chasm he might never cross.
