Chapter 77 - [77] Secret

Night had fallen.

Tengen staggered out of Tsunade's home, weary but intact.

"Good thing I survived." He muttered, patting himself down to ensure no parts were missing. He'd agreed to some lopsided terms with Tsunade to appease her, but her Monster Strength had still left its mark.

Of course, Tsunade hadn't used her full power, just enough to leave Tengen battered but not gravely injured. Then, with her medical ninjutsu, she patched him up.

During the healing process, Tsunade marveled at Tengen's physique. His recovery rate surpassed that of most ninja. While it couldn't rival her Creation Rebirth technique, it was extraordinary. If Tengen's healing was truly that potent, it might outstrip even a Sage Body, allowing near-constant regeneration.

Such abilities weren't unheard of in other worlds. In the Marvel universe, Wolverine's healing factor was terrifying, even preserving his youth. In the Dragon Ball world, beings like Buu or Cell could regenerate from mere cells, showcasing unparalleled survival capabilities.

But those were low-tier worlds. In high-tier realms, reducing someone to ash was trivial, and causal attacks could erase existence itself. Such worlds were far beyond Tengen's reach.

His system receiving a signal from those realms? That would take eons, if it was even possible in the Naruto world. With that kind of power, conquering the ninja world would be child's play.

In Naruto, planet-destroying feats were absent. The moon, shattered in some tales, was far smaller than Earth, incomparable in scale. In Dragon Ball, obliterating stars was routine, and universal destruction was within reach. The thought alone was daunting.

But those concerns were distant for Tengen.

Tsunade, thrilled by Tengen's resilience, seemed even more eager to "discipline" Him. It was well past dark when he finally escaped her home, his face pale. Anyone seeing him might've misunderstood, wondering if Tsunade had drained him dry.

Okay, that thought veered into murky territory.

"The stars are still beautiful." Tengen said, glancing skyward as he left. Tsunade's parting words echoed in his mind.

"Tengen, come back tomorrow." She'd purred, her voice deceptively soft. Instead of slowing, he quickened his pace.

Suddenly, he froze. His system flickered with a signal, a rare high-definition video.

"An HD signal?" Tengen checked the map, his eyes narrowing at the marked location. It felt familiar. "Let's check it out."

Like a phantom, he darted through Konoha's streets, his speed rendering him invisible to ordinary eyes.

Soon, he crouched atop a building, eyeing a dark, isolated structure below. This was a remote part of Konoha, and Tengen recalled receiving an HD signal here before. He'd avoided it then, having seen Orochimaru enter and exit the place some time ago.

This wasn't Orochimaru's residence, which left one possibility: a secret research lab, likely leading to an underground facility. Orochimaru was already conducting human experiments.

Back then, intruding would've been risky. If Orochimaru caught him, Tengen might've been silenced, lacking the strength to resist. Now, things were different.

With his Mangekyo Sharingan and formidable taijutsu, Tengen feared no confrontation with Orochimaru. If he uncovered Orochimaru's secrets and the snake couldn't subdue him, they might strike a deal. Tengen could gain insight into Orochimaru's research.

As long as Orochimaru hadn't defected, he'd likely accept reasonable terms to keep Tengen quiet.

"Is Orochimaru here now?" Tengen mused, then slipped into the building. A quick scan revealed the signal originated below the room.

"A hidden space, as expected." He said, inspecting the area. He approached a carpeted spot and pulled it back, revealing a seal etched into the floor.

"This seal…" Tengen smirked. "I thought that random seal I got would come in handy. So it's for Orochimaru's hideout."

The seal served as an alarm. Unauthorized entry would alert Orochimaru and, Tengen suspected, trigger linked seals below to destroy the lab's contents.

Fortunately, a recent standard video had granted him several sealing techniques, including this one.

"Orochimaru even modified it." Tengen noted. Forming hand signs, he pressed his palms to the stone, unraveling the seal.

The stone slab rose and slid aside, exposing a dark passageway. A faint medicinal odor wafted up.

"Definitely a secret lab." Tengen said. Leaving the slab open, he descended the stairs.

The system wouldn't make retrieving the signal easy. Orochimaru was likely en route, so Tengen wasted no time.

At the bottom, orange-red lights illuminated rows of tubular equipment containing human and animal bodies. Cabinets held jars with hearts and bizarre organs.

"Orochimaru's already deep in this." Tengen said, reaching the lab's center where the signal pulsed. He began downloading it.

Meanwhile, a lanky figure approached the building under the moonlight, his pale face unmistakable, Orochimaru.
