[Ding! Obtained Flight.]
The system's mechanical voice announced.
"Flight!" Tengen's face lit up. He hadn't expected this Dragon Ball ability, a common skill in that world's later stages, where every warrior could fly.
But in the Naruto world, it was revolutionary.
Humans couldn't fly without puppets or specific ninjutsu. Deidara's aerial bombings were a nightmare precisely because self-sustained flight was so rare.
Tengen absorbed the ability without hesitation.
Knowledge of the Flight flooded his mind, his body, and his chakra subtly shifting to adapt.
Was this to optimize his use of the technique?
Once fully integrated, Tengen mastered it instantly. He floated effortlessly, no ninjutsu required.
With a flicker, he shot forward, air hissing around him at speeds rivaling his ground sprints.
No obstacles hindered him in the sky.
Tengen understood the technique's potential, its speed scaled with strength. In Dragon Ball, fighters like Trunks could circle the Earth in moments.
This was a game-changer.
"Perfect." Tengen alighting on a tree. This ability boosted his survivability significantly.
But he wasn't complacent. Against tailed beasts or genjutsu, he'd be vulnerable.
Strength was still his priority.
"Now, where's Orochimaru-sensei and Anko?" Tengen mused, then frowned. He clenched his fists, summoning a scroll.
Placing it on the ground, he channeled chakra, activating it.
A flash of light revealed a summoning seal. A small snake appeared, a large scroll in its mouth. It spat the scroll into Tengen's hands.
"Hm." Tengen read it, nodding. "The Land of Birds' capital."
He vanished, heading for the capital. The scroll confirmed Orochimaru had found Anko and Jurin, instructing Tengen to meet them there.
The merchant, Saki, was likely safe, otherwise, Orochimaru would've summoned him to the border.
Along the way, Tengen honed his new strengths, especially the Elite Chunin Experience Pack. It had skyrocketed his power, and though the system made him adept, practice sharpened his combat instincts.
He experimented with blending his abilities, Flight, Haki, and ninjutsu, for optimal synergy.
...
Far away, Anko faced Orochimaru. "Sensei, what about Tengen?"
Four figures stood together: Orochimaru, Jurin, Anko, and Saki.
"I've sent a message via my summoning beast. If Tengen receives it, he'll head to the capital." Orochimaru said calmly.
"But three chunin…" Anko hesitated.
She knew Tengen had faced three elite chunin, a misstep could've been fatal.
"Tengen." Jurin muttered, his stoic face betraying a flicker of respect for Tengen's bravery.
"We don't know where he is, so finding him is impossible. Too much time has passed." Orochimaru said, shaking his head. "But with Tengen's skills, he could escape three chunin."
"But…" Anko pressed.
"Anko, if he doesn't show, it's his fate." Orochimaru said coolly.
"Understood." Anko nodded.
"Let's move." Orochimaru is redirecting the group toward the capital. His clash with Han seemed to have left him unscathed.
Elsewhere in the Land of Birds, a red-haired ninja glowered into the distance. "All three dead? That Konoha-nin bastard."
This was Han, the Four-Tails Jinchuriki.
"Even against Orochimaru, one of the Sannin, I gained no ground." Han muttered. "But those three who fled, genin, weren't they? How did they kill my men?"
Han couldn't fathom it. He didn't know one "genin" Had undergone a meteoric power surge, annihilating his elite chunin.
"Forget it. I've learned enough about the Sunagakure. Back to the Iwagakure." Han decided and depart.
The area bore scars of his battle with Orochimaru, charred, broken trees, ravaged earth, and traces of molten lava. It looked like an apocalypse had struck.
Their fight had been no small affair, both unleashing near-full power.
...
A day later, Tengen reached the bustling capital of the Land of Birds, its gates teeming with people.
"Time to find Orochimaru-sensei and the others."
