Brandon's POV
I have never seen Chloe like this before. She looked so shaken, scared out of her mind. Her eyes were closed, yet it felt like she was seeing things only she could see. Things that terrified her to her bones.
I didn't understand what was happening or why she was spiraling this way, but I knew one thing: she wasn't okay. From the look of things, she was having a full-blown panic attack.
I could tell because I knew that feeling. That empty, drowning rush. The way your chest clamps shut while your body turns against you. It was unmistakable—I'd been there too many times myself.
She kept jerking away from me, her body twitching like it couldn't decide whether to fight or flee, though her feet stayed rooted to the spot. The sight made my stomach knot with worry.
This wasn't the time to ask questions. This wasn't the time to press for answers. The only thing that mattered was keeping her calm, keeping her here with me.
