Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Sour Captain Jack, Regretting Past Mistakes, Smokes in Frustration!

Port Royal — Main Square

The world itself seemed to bow beneath the presence of the Eternal God.

A single glance upward, and Elizabeth Swann's heart froze.

Thunder dragons raged across the heavens, roaring with unspeakable power.

Each flash of lightning illuminated the colossal outline of the god — no, not even his full figure — just a pair of eyes.

Eyes so vast they seemed brighter than the sun, deeper than the ocean.

The skies, the sea, the earth itself… all trembled under his gaze.

Elizabeth's hands clutched her dress tightly, her legs quivering.

This was no mere evil spirit summoned by a crazed pirate.

This was something far beyond human comprehension —

An existence that could erase the world with a mere breath.

She had once read myths of gods like Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades —

But now, looking up, Elizabeth understood:

Those so-called gods were mere insects compared to this being.

Jack Sparrow, too, stared up in stunned awe.

His throat bobbed as he struggled to breathe.

Damn, damn, damn!

What kind of terrifying being did I just summon?!

Still, years of being a slick-talking rogue kicked in, and he found his voice.

Throwing off his hat, Jack fell to his knees and howled with religious fervor:

"The great God has arrived! You fools, bow down! Bow down to my God!!

He is the Eternal God, the infinite one!"

His shrill screams snapped the crowd out of their stupor.

One by one, the people — citizens, pirates, navy officers alike — collapsed to the ground, faces pressed against the bloodstained stone, trembling.

Chants began to rise:

"Great God of Eternity, please forgive our ignorance...!"

"We shall offer sacrifices! Treasures! Our loyalty!"

"We are your believers now, and forevermore!"

The square became a sea of prostrated figures, their prayers overlapping in chaotic desperation.

Even the priest of Port Royal, once a loyal servant of the "Lord," tore off his own holy robes and spat on his discarded Bible.

"The false god I served... was a lie," he muttered, tears streaming down his face.

"Only you, Eternal God, are real."

The scene would be laughable if it weren't so utterly pathetic.

From the shadows, Liu Che, the Eternal God, observed everything with cold detachment.

Typical human nature.

Fear first, then obedience.

But the flood of fresh faith and sacrifices delighted him nonetheless.

System Notifications:

"Ding... your deep believer Jack sacrificed 3,000 human souls!"

"Reward: 3,000 [Soul Crystals], boosted 10,000x → 3,000 [Purple Ghost Souls]!"

"Ding... you gained a strand of faith, boosted 10 million times → transformed into 2,000 units of Original Divine Power!"

[Purple Ghost Souls]:

➔ The purest form of soul energy.

➔ Can be forged into weapons, used as medicine, or fused into the Divine Realm to strengthen death and soul laws.

Liu Che smiled faintly.

Good, very good.

Jack Sparrow had finally understood who held his fate.

And now, this entire world would soon fall under his domain.

The storm clouds began to recede.

The terrifying pressure lifted slightly.

A gentle golden light bathed the island.

The wounded gasped in shock as their injuries knit together.

Old scars faded.

Missing limbs reappeared.

Children wept tears of joy as blind eyes regained sight.

Elderly men dropped their canes and danced like youths.

Exclamations of awe filled the air.

"My lame leg… it's healed!"

"My eyesight! I can see!"

"My son… his fever is gone!"

The former priest, sensing an opportunity, immediately seized the moment.

He threw himself forward, crawling on all fours toward the altar, shouting at the top of his lungs:

"This is grace, you fools! Grace from the true God! Kneel! Thank him! Dedicate your souls to him!!"

Jack's eyelid twitched violently.

That damned priest! Trying to steal my limelight!

He gritted his teeth and glared hatefully at the groveling cleric, but… he dared not interrupt.

Not with the God's blazing eyes still hanging high in the heavens.

Jack could only suppress his fury and force a fake smile.

Fine. Let him bark for now. We'll settle scores later.

Meanwhile, the priest sobbed loudly:

"Great God of Eternity, I am your lost lamb! Fooled by liars for so long!

Now that I see your radiance, I reject all false gods! Please, accept me as your humble servant!"

The words were delivered with such pitiful sincerity that even Liu Che almost laughed.

Heh. Not bad. This one knows how to please.

Very well.

He would make this priest a living example of the rewards awaiting loyal believers.

Liu Che's voice thundered across the heavens:

"Lanster."

The priest froze.

His blood turned to ice.

He… he knows my name!

Tears gushed from Lanster's eyes.

His forehead slammed into the ground with a loud thud.

"I, Lanster, heed your command, my God!!"

His voice cracked with terror and ecstasy.

The Eternal God's words rolled across the land like a divine decree:

"From this moment forth, you shall become my second high priest in this world.

Spread my name.

Preach my glory."

"But remember — do not abuse my name for selfishness.

If you harm innocents or betray my faith... even your soul shall be obliterated, never to reincarnate."

Lanster's face turned pale.

He slammed his head against the ground again and again, swearing his loyalty:

"I shall obey! I shall never defy your will!"

A bolt of purple lightning fell from the sky.

It crystallized into a magnificent spear, humming with divine energy, and embedded itself before Lanster.

The spear radiated terrifying power — the authority of thunder and judgment.

At the same time, a stream of divine energy surged into Lanster's body.

Muscles swelled. Bones hardened.

Power beyond human limits coursed through his veins.

Lanster had ascended — a mere mortal transformed into a high-ranking believer blessed by God!

He wept uncontrollably, hugging the spear to his chest like a child clinging to a parent.

Meanwhile, Jack Sparrow watched the whole scene with a face greener than seaweed.

Smoke practically poured from his ears.

"Bloody hell… if only I hadn't lied back then..."

He bit his knuckles in frustration.

Seeing Lanster get a divine weapon and a body enhancement…

Jack wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

Regret gnawed at his guts.

He, Jack Sparrow, who once danced between kings and pirates with ease, had finally met someone he couldn't outwit.

The God of Eternity.

Dammit… I'll make it up! I'll work harder!

Jack swore to himself.

Otherwise, he might not live to see another sunrise.
