Jameson walked back and spun to leave Claude's immediate vision. It was Len's cue to walk close. Claude looked up at him, only clearing his stuffy nose and teary eyes. He whispered, "Did you ask Jameson to do that on your stead?"
Len combed his hands through Claude's hair. His face didn't even have a semblance of a smile. He answered, "The last time I pacified you, you felt bad when no one held you accountable."
Claude nodded and held Len's shoulders as if it were enough for a hug. He then moved to the side and went past Len. He walked closer to Jane. "I'm really sorry, Jane. You can hate me if you like."
