"It's all right. We just need you to keep the barrier up… so no one gets in or out." Claude glanced at Reina, who watched with them. "It's an ugly thing to witness. You don't have to look."
"The girls knew something was happening tonight. They want me to watch everything so I won't miss a detail." Reina glanced at Claude a second later. "They don't know about the big things… but they figured Eugene will be in a bad shape after this. You probably think they're meddlesome. I apologize for them."
"Not really." Claude sighed as if he had forgotten to breathe earlier. "I like it. They're not the best people to be around Eugene, but they are willing to be around him."
Reina pulled on her lips for a smile. "Maybe he does have a way to see through people. We should make sure everything goes well for him, Claude."
Claude hummed in agreement. He would have said more, but he had already failed the promise.
