The first to face the impact was the left-wing army led by Laine. At the forefront, the long halberdiers and Eternal Guards began engaging the Skeleton Legion, followed by swarms of Desperadoes, Beastmen, and Giant Demons, who frantically assaulted the left-wing lines.
The soldiers formed tight groups of sixteen, with sharp spear tips aimed at the enemy. They formed compact formations, using flesh and blood to resist the tide-like attack of the Undead.
Skeleton Warriors could easily be cut down, yet the Desolate Tomb Guards smashed through the makeshift defensive structures. Unsteady fences were easily hacked apart by these heavy armor warriors, and the battlefield was filled with blood and chaos, human screams, and shattered limbs flying through the air. The Peasant Infantry Corp from the Count Glamorgan's domain rapidly collapsed; many infantry trembled as if sick, and at the initial engagement, they were harvested like hay by the Desolate Grave Guard Legion.
