Lin Fan was driving, on his way to meet Morgan Smith, but was stopped by a white traffic cop.
"Hello." Lin Fan greeted in standard London-accented English.
The white traffic cop glanced at him and said, "Your English is good, you're the best Asian speaker of the London accent I've seen, are you an immigrant?"
Lin Fan replied, "No, I'm just a tourist."
The white traffic cop said, "Let me see your driver's license and passport."
Lin Fan fully cooperated with the request and showed his driver's license and passport to the cop.
"Where did this car come from?" The white traffic cop, after checking the documents without finding issues, asked Lin Fan.
Lin Fan replied, "A friend's loan."
The cop asked, "Where are you headed so late?"
Lin Fan smiled and said, "Played all day, heading back to my friend's place."
If Lin Fan were white, the cop might have let him go without further questioning, but Lin Fan was Asian, which inexplicably made the white cop fuss more.
