Originally, Ichard was supposed to escape with the Count through the route of the Gray Mountain Dwarves.
However, as the Count had said, very few were willing to leave with them, and in the end, they barely gathered close to 10,000 refugees.
It seemed like a lot, but for the entire refugee group, it was really too little.
On one hand, the refugees were too scattered, and the Count didn't have enough time to contact every refugee, or even pass the message to their ears.
The main issue was that many refugees had already lost hope; they just wanted to survive in the Cohen Kingdom or other kingdoms.
Moreover, the fortification and defense setup of the Gray Rock Fortress over the past year required a lot of labor, and they had somewhat stabilized in this year.
This one year's time seemed to have worn down their courage.
These 10,000 refugees were all former inhabitants of the Count's domain, and they followed him out of trust, yet they held little faith in the endeavor.
