Chapter 14 - Chapter 12: Testing the Waters_2

Zhang Feng stretched his arms, thinking that since he had to compete within the main hall later, he might as well try out on a live target first.

"Senior brother, can I participate in the arrest?"

Arrests were mostly secretive, especially with major cases like these, and temporary collaborations were rare unless necessary.

But for the Third Senior Brother, this wasn't a big deal.

"One more person, one more strength."

The Third Senior Brother had Zhang Feng get out of the car.

Then the Third Senior Brother went ahead to converse with the team leader.

The team leader looked a bit troubled but nodded and handed over two communication devices.

The Third Senior Brother returned shortly and handed a communicator to Zhang Feng.

Zhang Feng put it on his ear.

"Not bad." The Third Senior Brother glanced at Zhang Feng a few times, "Looks about right."

As he spoke, he pointed to the roadside,

"We'll stay in this area. If the criminals come here, you make your move. If not, we shouldn't move or overstep our bounds."

This was the maximum level of collaboration he could secure.

Because Zhang Feng was a temporary addition to the plan, getting involved might disrupt their capture team's formation.

"Park the car a bit further away."

After a while, the Third Senior Brother had Brother Hao drive and take the master father away to a distance.

Otherwise, if there were too many cars here, it would easily arouse the murderer's suspicions.

If, at that moment, they reversed and traveled against traffic on the highway, or something else, a major accident could occur.

Zhang Feng nodded and stood with the Third Senior Brother outside the highway toll station.

An old and a young, really looked like passers-by, idlers.

But they weren't idle for long.

"Attention all teams, the suspect's vehicle has appeared..."

A voice came through the communicator.

The plainclothes officers around naturally focused their attention on the entrance.

About two minutes later, a dust-covered black sedan sped toward them.

It only slowed down near the toll booth.

In the car.

At the driver's seat, there was a burly man in shorts and a t-shirt.

He rubbed his prickly crew cut and said to a gloomy-faced man in the passenger seat:

"Big brother, what's going on up ahead? So many people? Could it be they're here to arrest us?"

"Don't scare yourself." The big brother slightly opened his eyes and saw a vehicle collision ahead, with three men and two women arguing.

There were two traffic officers directing, and two people who seemed to be from an insurance company taking photos.

Finally, there were four or five people watching the commotion.

The big brother looked out the right window, at an old and a young chatting idly on the sidewalk.

The big brother felt nothing was amiss.

Watching commotions was a long-standing trend in the country.

"Just a bunch of onlookers." The big brother continued to rest with his eyes closed, "Don't get startled."

The big brother had high psychological resilience and was bold.

He dared to hit the highway right after a murder.

"Actually, many people die while hiding." He shared his insight with his younger brother, "If you hide for a day or two and the incident occurs, the police seal off all major routes.

Then it becomes truly difficult to escape.

Unless you climb mountains bare-handed or walk the railroad."

"Big brother, you're amazing!" The burly man relaxed when the wise and brave big brother said there was nothing to worry about.

Vroom—

He continued to step on the gas, slowly heading toward the toll station.

But the car in front seemed like a novice or got distracted by the commotion.

Causing him to instead accidentally shift into reverse.

'Bang,' the two cars lightly collided.

The car behind also followed closely. Although it wasn't hit, the big brother and the burly man's car couldn't back out.

"Damn!" The burly man with a fiery temper saw his car hit and instantly got angry.

"How the hell do you drive?"

He opened the car door, ready to swear.

"Old Xiong!" The big brother frowned when he saw the burly man get out, wanting to call him back.

But then his gaze darted to see some people approaching from afar, seemingly watching the commotion.

"Something's not right!"

The big brother's heart tightened, suddenly feeling it was a setup.

Especially as the plainclothes officers' hands moved slowly toward their waists.

The big brother suddenly realized it really might be a trap.

Just then, a few meters away on the side and close to Zhang Feng and the Third Senior Brother, there was a bus.

The driver, seeing the checkpoint, opened the door to let the approaching traffic officers investigate.

Upon seeing this scene, the big brother quickly decided, shouting to the burly man who hadn't realized anything was wrong, "Come back! It's a setup! Head for the bus!"

They wanted to find hostages and avoid firearm use as much as possible.

"What? A setup?" The burly man hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran toward the bus.

"What's going on?" The driver, seeing someone running toward him, hadn't yet reacted.

"Are they calling the bus?" Some bus windows were open.

Upon hearing the word 'bus', onlookers curiously peeked out.

They saw two viciously suspicious people already running in front of the bus.

"Stop!" Several plainclothes officers began to chase from behind.

Anyone with good sense felt something was wrong.

These two were definitely not good guys!

Getting close to them would certainly bring trouble.

But at the same time.

Everyone was astonished to see a young man by the roadside, like a wild tiger unleashed, stomp forward with such force that a small hole exploded on the lawn under his right foot.

Whoosh—

Using the recoil from his right foot, Zhang Feng leapt three meters forward, and while in mid-air, twisted and swept his left leg horizontally, striking the big brother's back.

Bang!

With a dull thud, the big brother's body flew forward about half a meter before crashing down in front of the bus.

"Big brother!" Startled, the burly man drew a dagger, aiming to stab at Zhang Feng who was closing in again.

Zhang Feng seized his knife-wielding wrist, and as he brushed past him, twisted and wrenched, 'crack' breaking his arm with brute force.

"Ah!"

With a scream, he was thrown to the ground by the remaining force.

In just three seconds.

With two moves, Zhang Feng half-crippled two people.

One lay on the ground, life and death unknown.

The other's arm was twisted, wailing in pain.

"This..." The approaching plainclothes officers were stunned for a moment by Zhang Feng's fierce moves.

Click click click—

'A master!' A passenger on the bus, initially filming the scenery, turned his camera excitedly toward Zhang Feng and the two men on the ground.

"Wow, what skills?"

"Amazing, amazing, amazing!"

"He... kicked someone almost to death with one kick?"

The other passengers craned their necks, anxiously watching Zhang Feng and the two criminals on the ground.

The killer who had been kicked by Zhang Feng was now more gasps than breaths.

"Quick! An ambulance! Rescue!" A plainclothes officer tried to give the big brother temporary CPR, but as soon as he pressed once, a large mouthful of bloody foam gushed from the big brother's mouth.

His back ribs were shattered, already puncturing the lung.

Zhang Feng, with a current Constitution of 26, and 260 pounds of body strength.

With technique support, running with accumulated force, his turning single whip kick delivered nearly 600 pounds of enormous impact force.

This was far beyond what a human body could withstand.

It was thanks to the big brother's strong constitution that he wasn't killed instantly.

At the same time.

Zhang Feng glanced at the somewhat panicked crowd, then at the half-dead criminals, finally turning to the Third Senior Brother in deep thought,

"Senior brother, does this count as an act of bravery?"
