Chapter 9 - Chapter 5 Unexpected Encounter

This afternoon, there weren't any boring girls flirting with him; those who came to see the doctor indeed had some minor issues. Although Xiao Lin cursed a certain unscrupulous guy in his heart, he still treated these patients with a serious and responsible attitude.

"Doctor, don't I need to take medicine? I've had a cold for three days!" Although the female patient felt much better under Xiao Lin's acupuncture, she was still a bit puzzled about not needing medication.

"Actually, you've only caught a slight chill. If your body's resistance was stronger, you wouldn't need medicine at all. Medicine has its side effects, for such mild conditions, there's no need for medication!" Xiao Lin had just used acupuncture to dispel the chill inside the patient, and the cold was naturally cured.

"Doctor, thank you so much!" The female patient was naturally delighted; in today's hospitals, where do you go without needing medicine? Although this is the school hospital, student health insurance covers up to eighty percent, there's still a minimum amount for reimbursement. For such ordinary colds, it doesn't reach the reimbursement threshold, and now it's just a consultation without medicine, which makes the treatment cost much cheaper.

Interestingly enough, as it approached half past five, ready to get off work, the line at the emergency room finally began to diminish. Despite this, the doctors and nurses in the emergency room still worked until six o'clock.

Xiao Lin leisurely drove his inconspicuous QQ car, navigating the congested major roads, as it was the peak period for getting off work — the traffic jam was almost identical to the morning.

Since there wasn't much to do at home, Xiao Lin wasn't in a rush like he was in the morning to get to work. However, this daily rush during peak hours wasn't ideal; it looks like he needs to find a place closer to work to rent.

"Looks like I need to find an apartment near the school these days!" Xiao Lin muttered to himself. He lowered the car window, stuck his head out to look ahead, and the lion-like queue of cars was moving slowly, even slower than walking: "When will this jam end!" Although Xiao Lin wasn't visiting Yanjing for the first time, he rarely traveled during peak periods and usually went out more at night.

Xiao Lin's car moved along the second lane near the street, providing a clear view of the storefronts on the street. Now it was rush hour, and the road stuck in this section was Yanjing's most bustling downtown commercial district, yet the sidewalks on both sides of the road had few pedestrians at this time.

As Xiao Lin looked around, he suddenly spotted a familiar face. The face was heavily made-up, with bright red lipstick and a tight black leather outfit, appearing to be at least twenty-five or twenty-six years old. Next to this familiar face were several young people dressed in bizarre styles, clearly looking like street hooligan types.

"It's really her!" Xiao Lin's heart was incredibly excited, he turned on the hazard lights and honked frantically, trying to squeeze onto the sidewalk along the road.

Although there were quite a few drivers in nearby cars cursing Xiao Lin's QQ car for breaking traffic rules, they reluctantly gave way, and Xiao Lin squeezed into the nearest lane on the street side, then turned and drove directly onto the sidewalk, finally stopping beside a tree.

Xiao Lin kept his eyes on the familiar figure, and just when he stopped the car, the figure was about to turn the corner. Xiao Lin didn't even bother to pull out the car keys and immediately opened the door to get out.

However, when Xiao Lin opened the car door, he was faced with an extremely beautiful face. Yet, this face was undeniably cold, with a hint of anger. Raising his head, Xiao Lin saw a beautiful woman dressed in a police uniform standing by the car door, gazing at him coldly.

"It's you?" Xiao Lin and the female police officer standing outside the car door almost shouted simultaneously.

What appeared before Xiao Lin was the long-legged female traffic cop from this morning. But Xiao Lin didn't have time for this and said, "Move aside!"

"You violated..." The long-legged female traffic cop hadn't finished her sentence when Xiao Lin reached out to push her away, intending to get out of the car. The female police officer seemed quite nimble; seeing Xiao Lin's hand coming towards her, she sneered, formed a fist with her delicate-looking right hand, and attacked fiercely, intending to teach Xiao Lin a lesson.

Xiao Lin hadn't expected the female traffic cop to be so aggressive, directly resorting to force. His palm changed into a fist, exerting strength, and the female officer stumbled back three steps. Taking advantage of this gap, Xiao Lin quickly got out of the car and said, "If you want to handle the traffic violation, go ahead, just don't block my way!" After speaking, he swiftly ran towards the direction of the familiar figure.

Wu Shuang hadn't anticipated that this seemingly twenty-something doctor had such impressive skills. Although she was a newly appointed traffic cop, this was due to family reasons. Originally, she was a top graduate of Huaxia Public Security University's criminal investigation program and repeatedly won the school's martial arts competitions. Her skills were indeed quite proficient, but the family thought being a detective was too dangerous, and since she was the only daughter, they insisted on placing her in the traffic police.

Wu Shuang naturally knew her skills; ordinary people couldn't get close to her, especially with the elite from Public Security University. Her abilities should have been assigned to the SWAT team, but her family outright rejected this.
