Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: 9 Divine Needles_2

Xiao Lin finished speaking, and without waiting for the female traffic officer to continue, he walked directly toward the two patients lying on the ground. When he reached them, he set down his travel bag, glanced at the patients, and frowned.

The two patients were barely breathing more than exhaling; a large pool of blood had formed on the ground, and their clothes were soaked with bright red blood. Two holes were on their foreheads, and there were several other injuries, especially on the knees and calves where the bones were visible.

Xiao Lin quickly took out a small bag from the travel bag, untied it and laid it on the ground, revealing a row of silver needles glistening in the sunlight. He then took out a small box with a bright red cross logo on it.

Skilfully, Xiao Lin retrieved various first aid medicines and medical tools from the small box and then began treating the more seriously injured patient's wounds.

"Ah, he's a Chinese medicine doctor. Mastering Chinese medicine requires much more effort than Western medicine. I didn't expect such a young man to be a Chinese medicine doctor!" Many people exclaimed as Xiao Lin took out the cloth bag and revealed a row of silver needles.

"Western medicine? Integrative medicine? Could this young man be a fraud? How could someone so young master both Chinese and Western medicine?" Seeing Xiao Lin take out a box commonly used in Western medicine, some people doubted him.

The female traffic officer was about to say something but stopped herself upon seeing Xiao Lin's set of medical tools and watching his skilled first aid techniques. She stood there, fixedly watching Xiao Lin's hands as they danced like two white spirits under the sun.

Xiao Lin paid no attention to the crowd's comments. At this moment, he couldn't hear the surrounding chatter. In his eyes, the time for these two injured people was most precious. The quicker he was, the greater the chance of saving them.

In just one minute, Xiao Lin, without moving the patient, cleaned all the surface wounds thoroughly, then swiftly inserted silver needles into several places on the patient's body, completing the task.

The second patient wasn't as seriously injured, but Xiao Lin spent considerable effort because the wounds were compressed. Xiao Lin professionally turned the patient over without touching his wounds and began treating them. The second patient didn't require silver needles; Qin Ying merely pressed a few spots on the patient's body with his fingers.

The whole process took less than five minutes. Xiao Lin then stood up, exhaled lightly, and said, "Whether you survive or not will depend on your fortune!"

The less severely injured patient remained conscious and, full of gratitude, weakly said, "Doctor, thank you!"

By that time, an external medical team and the police had arrived. A middle-aged man in his fifties wearing a white coat led a team of eight toward the two severely injured patients. Qin Ying had already packed away the silver needles and the small box, getting ready to move on to other patients.

The middle-aged man approached and, seeing Xiao Lin standing next to the patients with blood around them, frowned and said, "Move aside. Don't you know lives are at stake? How can you be so unethical, standing here gawking and delaying us? Can you bear the responsibility?"

Xiao Lin then noticed the ambulances and police had arrived, and many doctors were already treating the injured. Seeing there was nothing more for him to do, Xiao Lin ignored the middle-aged man's words, treating them like hot air, gave him a calm glance, and turned to leave.

"Why are young people so lacking in manners nowadays?" said a young intern, trying to flatter the middle-aged man, inadvertently including himself in the criticism but showing no embarrassment.

"Less talk, get on with the treatment!" the middle-aged man said, seeing Xiao Lin walk away silently, and chose not to trouble him further, focusing instead on saving lives.

Xiao Lin did not linger, heading straight toward his car. The tall female traffic officer who was first on the scene noticed Xiao Lin leaving and with a sweetened expression said to him, "Young man, you seem so young, unexpected to truly be a doctor. Thank you!"

Xiao Lin turned to look, casting a leering glance at the part of the police uniform where it was stretched, smiled lightly, and said, "How about, marrying me as a reward?"

"Scram, I didn't expect someone so young to be a lecher!" The female traffic officer, looking about twenty-three or twenty-four, had a mix of maturity and innocence, with a touch of allure. The way her uniform stretched around her chest drew Xiao Lin's gaze again.

Xiao Lin felt helpless; being nearly 24 turning 25, he had a youthful appearance that made people mistake him for a kid in his early twenties.

He looked at the female traffic officer more closely and suddenly said, "You're ill!"

"You're the one who's ill!" The female traffic officer became even more infuriated; being in perfect health, how could she be ill?

Xiao Lin laughed heartily and walked away.

The fifty-something doctor and his team arrived by the two severely injured individuals, knelt down for a thorough examination, and were astonished. The wounds seemed already cleaned up. Although roughly done, it was the most practical method, and the bleeding from their arterial injuries had stopped. Notably, one had silver needles inserted and the other didn't.

Upon examining the patient without the silver needles, the doctor realized their injury was less severe and that the bleeding had stopped. It seemed their acupoints had been activated — an impressive acupoint technique, which earned his admiration. Finally, checking the patient with the silver needles, he was shocked to see each of the nine major acupoints with a silver needle inserted, and his face instantly froze.

"Nine Dragons Divine Needle!" The doctor counted the silver needles on the patient's body, increasingly shocked: "I didn't think this technique really existed or anyone could actually perform it!"

The Nine Dragons Divine Needle is said to be the essence of the Inner Canon of Huangdi, requiring integration with Huaxia Martial Arts. In the most exaggerated tales, as long as a person has breath, the Nine Dragons Divine Needle can bring them back, regrowing flesh and bone. However, it hasn't been seen for centuries and was considered a legend. The doctor had heard about it years ago when visiting a Chinese medicine master. In discussions about Chinese medicine, the master lamented that being able to see the Nine Dragons Divine Needle in his lifetime, he could die happy.

It was unexpected for the doctor to witness it at this accident scene. How could he not be shocked? Coming to his senses, he realized the technique might have been performed by the young man he had scolded. Turning back to find him, there was no trace of the young man.

Missed him, missed him!

The middle-aged doctor felt regret.

"Director, director, what should we do now?" The young intern, who had earlier flattered the director, quickly asked upon seeing him dazed. Although the intern liked to flatter, he wasn't entirely bad at heart and understood that comforting these two severely injured people depended on quick treatment.

"The young man I scolded earlier has already treated them. They're temporarily out of danger. Take them to the ambulance!" The middle-aged doctor felt gloomy and realized he should have known. There were women officers keeping order; if the young man hadn't been helping with first aid, how could they have let him near the scene? Missed him, missed him!
