"Twenty!" The little old man in the guard post didn't hold back, sticking out two fingers.
"Sir, wasn't it supposed to be ten bucks a day? Why are you charging me twenty?" Ye Chen was reluctant, ten bucks, that's half a chunk of pork, enough to eat for days. He patted his pocket, funds were seriously running low. Ye Chen looked at the little old man in the guard post, desperately saying, "I only have ten bucks in my pocket. Take it or leave it."
"Kid, I have a reason for charging you twenty!" The old man sighed and said, "I know it's tough these days. Do you think I, working as a parking lot guard, would scam you? You came in yesterday afternoon and left this morning. After midnight today, it's technically the next day. So, charging you twenty is spot on!"
Ye Chen was dumbfounded. This old man was good! He couldn't help but handed over the ten bucks and gave a thumbs up, saying, "You're really something!"
