Click.
Suddenly, the room echoed with a low, mechanical click.
An old man seated near the far right corner discreetly pressed a hidden red button beneath the table.
BUZZZZ!
Instantly a deep hum rippled through the chamber and invisible energy surged around them as a translucent barrier shimmered into existence for a brief second, then vanished from sight.
Igaris felt it immediately.
His connection to the magical particles shattered like glass. It was as if the air itself had gone dead.
He clenched his fist and attempted to activate an magical ability.
But nothing happened.
Not even a flicker.
"Tch..." Igaris narrowed his eyes.
Seeing his frustration, a pleased chuckle followed.
"Don't bother using your magic here, boy," the old man said, rising slowly from his chair. His voice held both pride and smugness. "This entire council chamber is sealed. No mana, no summoning, no mystical abilities will work here. We call it the Anti-Magic Domain."
