Upon hearing this, Wang Yan asked in confusion, "Isn't the contention of a hundred schools supposed to refer to the different schools and the flourishing of various factions during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period? How does this relate to the path of cultivation?"
Zhuangzi slowly smiled and said, "That is merely the perspective of ordinary mortals. Actually, during the Spring and Autumn period, all mortals could cultivate. Many sought to transcend the Great Dao and achieve immortality, leading to the emergence of many cultivation sects, such as cultivators, Demon Pattern cultivators, Power cultivators, Demon Race, Demon Race, and even zombies and Yin Souls."
With Zhuangzi's words, Wang Yan suddenly felt his perspective broadened.
