Chapter 30 - CHAPTER 30

c30: Yadella Planet

"We finally arrived!"

The spacecraft descended steadily onto Planet Yadella. As the hatch opened, Li Xu and Bulma stepped out, taking in the unfamiliar landscape.

After departing from Planet Kanaro, they had sailed through the universe for nearly a month aboard their capsule spaceship. During the voyage, they used Senzu Beans to maintain their strength and conserve resources.

"Who are you?"

At that moment, a group of warriors swiftly surrounded them. Each Yadella native was dressed in a robe-like uniform and radiated strong but measured ki, their eyes filled with wariness.

"Hello, I heard that there are many mystical secret techniques on Planet Yadella, and I came here specifically to study them," Li Xu said calmly, clasping his fists in a polite greeting.

"We don't welcome outsiders here. You should leave immediately," the leader said sternly, his brow furrowing deeply.

"Hey! Why are you being so rude? We traveled a long way just to learn. Even if you refuse to teach us, there's no need to treat visitors so harshly!" Bulma said, stepping forward angrily.

"If you don't leave, we'll drive you away by force," the leader warned, his aura flaring faintly.

"Hmph. I'd like to see how you plan to be 'unwelcoming'," Li Xu sneered. Since they were already here, he had no intention of leaving until he mastered the secret techniques.

Just as tensions were about to erupt into battle, a raspy old voice suddenly rang out from behind the gathered crowd:

"Supa, bring them to me."

Hearing the command, the lead warrior Supa hesitated briefly, his expression flashing with doubt. However, he obeyed immediately and said,

"Our Wise One requests an audience with you. Please, follow me."

"Li Xu, should we go?" Bulma whispered, still wary. She was concerned it might be a trap.

"Let's go," Li Xu answered, smiling lightly. With his current strength, no ambush could threaten him.

The two followed Supa, flying low above the ground for a while before arriving at an ancient house built of rough stone. Inside, a withered old man sat cross-legged, wrapped in a large robe, his body frail but his ki still stable and deep.

"Welcome. I am Husu," the elder said with a kind smile, the wrinkles on his face deepening.

"Hello, my name is Li Xu," Li Xu replied respectfully, sensing no hostility from the old man.

"You have come to learn the secret arts," Husu said, his sharp eyes gleaming slightly. "I am willing to assign someone to teach you, but in return, I hope that when Planet Yadella faces crisis, you will lend us your strength."

"If it's within my capabilities, I'll certainly help," Li Xu agreed readily. A favor in exchange for knowledge was a small price to pay.

"Good," Husu nodded in satisfaction. "Suter, take our guests to the Secret Cave."

He gave the order to another Yadella warrior standing by.

"Yes, Wise One," Suter answered respectfully. Turning toward Li Xu and Bulma, he gestured politely:

"This way, honored guests."

Li Xu and Bulma promptly followed Suter, heading deeper into the heart of Yadella's ancient lands.

Meanwhile, back in the elder's chamber, Supa couldn't suppress his doubts any longer.

"Wise One, why allow outsiders into the Secret Cave to study the secret techniques?" he asked, bowing deeply.

"I've glimpsed fragmented visions of the future. He will one day defeat the great threat that looms over Planet Yadella. It's wise to cultivate goodwill with him now," Husu said with a calm smile.

"Can he really protect Planet Yadella from danger?" Supa still seemed doubtful.

Meanwhile, Li Xu and Bulma continued following Suter through the heart of the settlement. Along the way, they encountered numerous Yadellans. Though their combat power was modest, averaging between 100 and 500 well below the Earth warriors' level they possessed unique magical abilities that were clearly developed over generations of focus on spiritual and arcane arts.

"This is the Secret Cave," Suter said, leading them to a massive, vine-covered cavern opening. It extended so deep into the planet's crust that no end could be seen.

"All of our sacred techniques are etched onto the walls inside. You may browse and learn whichever you choose. I leave you to it." With that, Suter bowed and departed, not stepping into the cave with them.

Li Xu and Bulma entered slowly. The cave walls were completely covered with densely packed, ancient symbols clearly not just written language, but inscribed with ki-based energy that resonated with the surroundings.

"The Yadellans must have a long and proud history. These techniques feel older than even the Namekians' ancient scripts," Li Xu said, impressed.

Though the Yadellans didn't develop powerful ki-based battle techniques like the Saiyans or Namekians, their intellectual and spiritual depth allowed them to craft mystical arts that bypass brute strength just as the Namekians had done with healing and Dragon Ball creation.

"Li Xu, you can't even read these symbols. Are you sure they're not just trying to trick us?" Bulma asked, crossing her arms. The runes were incredibly complex and seemed to shift subtly as they stared.

"I don't think they're lying," Li Xu replied, narrowing his eyes and focusing on a particular set of runes. As he stared, the rune pulsed with energy—and a surge of knowledge streamed directly into his mind.

"Li Xu! Are you okay?" Bulma shouted, startled by the sudden flare of light and Li Xu's frozen expression.

"Yeah... I'm fine. I get it now," he said, a smile spreading across his face.

"Get what?"

"Each rune is tied to a specific secret technique. If you focus your ki and mind on one long enough, it communicates the method directly into your consciousness," Li Xu explained, clearly excited.

"Well, that's cool and all, but I'm not really into all this ancient mystic training. I'll just wait for you outside. When you're done, we'll leave together," Bulma said, uninterested.

"It could take a while. Use a Capsule to set up our shelter outside. I'll stay in here until I've learned everything I can," Li Xu replied, already scanning the walls for his next target.

"Alright!" Bulma turned and walked out.

---

Time passed quickly.

Half a year went by as Li Xu immersed himself completely in learning the Yadellan secret techniques. Thanks to the intermediate-level comprehension plug-in granted to him in his earlier adventures, he could instantly grasp one- and two-star level techniques just by reading them once. Only a few advanced techniques, ranked above two stars, required sustained study.

Among those elite techniques, three stood out:

1. Instant Transmission – the famous technique used by Goku after learning it from the Yardrats post-Namek Saga. It relied on space-folding principles and required the user to sense another being's ki to teleport. It took Li Xu one full month to master it completely.

2. Qi Clone Technique – Though not shown in detail in the original manga, this technique was used by Hit in Dragon Ball Super during his battle with Goku. It created a ki-based illusion with no power of its own, used to distract or mislead enemies. Li Xu recognized the strategic potential and mastered it in weeks.

3. Plant Spawning Technique – This lesser-known secret art allowed rapid botanical growth. While not suited for combat, it was extremely valuable for practical reasons such as increasing the yield of Senzu Beans. Li Xu had acquired two jars from Korin back on Earth, but he knew they wouldn't last. With this spell, he hoped to cultivate a steady supply.

Li Xu even considered a bolder idea: attempting to accelerate the growth of a Spiritual Tree. However, the energy required to mature a Spiritual Tree was immense far beyond his current reserves. For now, it remained a theoretical dream.

---

"Time to go."

Li Xu placed his fingers to his forehead index and middle fingers together and focused. He instantly located Bulma's ki and with a swoosh, vanished from the cave using Instant Transmission.

"Ahhh!"

As soon as he reappeared, he heard a startled scream. Bulma had been taking a bath inside the Capsule house, and Li Xu's sudden arrival had shocked her.

"Bulma, it's just me," Li Xu said quickly.

Seeing him, Bulma's face turned red.

"Get out! What are you doing suddenly showing up like that?"

"You were already in the shower. I figured I'd save time and join you," Li Xu replied, half-joking, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

What followed was a steamy and private moment between the two. The bath took over two hours and plenty happened that didn't involve training.
