January 14, 1982, Kukuroo Mountain, Zoldyck Family.

Illumi arrived at the Padokea Republic from Kallard City by airship, a journey that took a full week. This flying speed was incredibly slow.

This couldn't help but make Illumi wonder if various countries had signed some kind of secret agreement to prevent ordinary people from using airplanes as a mode of transport.

The reason was likely because the V5 wanted to blockade the existence of the Dark Continent.

One must know that Zebro could transform into a fighter jet, and even a small country like East Gorteau possessed fighter jets.

"I'm back."

Illumi called out from outside the door, reaching out and pulling open the sliding door with a "clack."

"Welcome back."

Silva nodded slightly at Illumi. Illumi looked at Kikyo Zoldyck, who was kneeling to Silva's right; her belly was already fully swollen and round.

Kikyo, rarely, showed Illumi a gentle smile.

This made Illumi regret even more that such a Yamato Nadeshiko-like woman would become so neurotic in the future.

Illumi sat to Silva's left, staring blankly at Illumi.

"Welcome home."

Illumi greeted him. Illumi chuckled softly, took off his shoes, and sat on the tatami.

"Your younger brother will be born in three months."

"Don't leave home during this time; accompany your mother."

Silva sat cross-legged on the tatami, a tea set and a low tea table in front of him.

Apparently, before Illumi's return, the family of three might have been chatting or something similar.

"Oh, and Illumi's training has also finished."

"If you have time, spar with him. He's eager to know the gap between you two."

Upon hearing this, Illumi turned to look at Illumi, who was also staring back blankly. After a moment, he spoke.

"I heard you participated in the Hunter Exam. How was it?"

"The test was simple, but there were a few formidable examinees."

Illumi began chatting with him, exchanging theoretical knowledge on assassination techniques, such as the fastest way to kill and how to minimize blood loss.

However, during their conversation, Illumi suddenly realized that while he was very clean in killing, he had never paid attention to blood loss.

Usually, those who died by his hand suffered terribly, dismembered with rivers of blood.

Silva, meanwhile, brewed his tea, occasionally chatting with Kikyo. The first day back home passed peacefully in this manner.

For the next three months, Illumi followed Silva's words and accepted no assignments.

He stayed home with Illumi, accompanying their mother Kikyo, as she was pregnant and it was a time when she needed her family's company.

Kukuroo Mountain, Zoldyck Family's backyard park...

Kikyo Zoldyck, dressed in a loose kimono, sat in the pavilion, with two female butlers attending to her.

Illumi and Illumi stood facing each other in an open space not far away.

"Come on, you can use any attack you want."

Illumi stood seven meters opposite Illumi, hands in his pockets, a smile on his face.

"Is that so?"

Looking at his confident smile, Illumi, though expressionless, was actually a little annoyed.

"Since you put it that way..."

Even as he said this, he remained still, his eyes fixed on Illumi's every move.

Illumi also stayed put. He knew Illumi was waiting for an opportunity, but he wasn't someone who would expose a weakness without reason, unless it was intentional.

"Young Master Illumi, the mistress asks if you prefer white or blue clothes."

One of the female butlers from Kikyo's side suddenly called out. Illumi turned to look.

"I like..."

"Whoosh!"

A sharp whizzing sound came.

Illumi leaned back, and a large head pin grazed his bangs, embedding itself with a "bang" into the trunk of a large tree behind him.

"A needle?"

His eyes accurately captured the flying object. It was the Nen Needle Illumi often used in the original story, just without Nen imbued in it this time.

"Swish!"

Before he could fully adjust his posture, Illumi leaped high, his right hand clenched into a fist, aimed at Illumi's head, and slammed down.

"Boom!"

With a loud crash, a large amount of dust and smoke erupted from where Illumi had been, covering the surrounding area.

"Ah!"

In the pavilion, the female butler who had spoken out to Illumi couldn't help but cover her mouth with a gasp.

"Whoosh whoosh~~"

A strong gust of wind blew, scattering fallen leaves and dispersing the dust cloud, revealing the scene within.

The spot where Illumi had been was now a circular crater fifty centimeters in diameter, with countless cracks spreading outwards.

In the crater, Illumi knelt on one knee, his right fist having punched a fist-sized hole into the ground within the crater.

"I don't like white, nor do I like blue."

Illumi's leisurely voice sounded from his back. Illumi was, surprisingly, sitting directly on the kneeling Illumi's back.

He turned to look at the female butler in the pavilion, raised his right index finger, and smiled slowly.

"I like... black."

The kneeling Illumi's pupils trembled subtly. This was the first time he showed an emotional fluctuation.

"Hmm?"

Illumi distinctly noticed the change in Illumi's aura; it was no longer calm.

Illumi's free left hand rose, fingers held together like a knife, and struck upwards at Illumi.

"Swish!"

Illumi moved to stand up naturally, but his speed was so fast that he left an afterimage, instantly dodging Illumi's hand knife attack.

After Illumi stood up, Illumi also broke free and raised his right hand again, fingers pressed together, attempting to form a hand knife to attack Illumi once more.

"Slap!"

However, before his right hand's fingers could fully come together, Illumi slapped his left palm against Illumi's right palm, his fingers intertwining with Illumi's, locking their hands together.

"Handshake."

Illumi chuckled, revealing his white teeth, and with a light flick of his left hand, he sent Illumi flying.

"Swish swish swish..."

Illumi's body spun rapidly in mid-air. Just as he was about to hit the ground, he forcefully slammed his left hand onto the surface, performing a backflip to land.

"Shhh..."

After landing, due to inertia, Illumi's body slid backward, his canvas shoes scraping against the flat concrete ground, producing a faint rustling sound.

"Ugh..."

Illumi's expression changed again; his pupils, which had been emotionless since childhood, subtly trembled once more.

Noticing this fleeting moment, Illumi's lips curled into a slight smile. He wanted to tease Illumi more.

"Tap tap tap..."

Illumi continued to charge forward relentlessly, delivering a hand knife. Illumi subtly twisted his foot, sidestepping the attack.

"Swish swish swish..."

Illumi didn't give up his offense, continuously speeding up, using every attack he could: hand knives, punches, large head pins, crotch kicks, and so on.

But Illumi's speed always had a slight edge over his. Just as his attacks were about to land, Illumi would effortlessly slide his foot and evade.
