The Command Base's strategy room was silent.
The jump had been completed successfully.
But no one celebrated.
There was weight in the air.
—
Kael stood at the front, before the large holographic table.
Resting carefully isolated atop it were:
The Temporal Disjunction Core.
The fragment of the Anomalous Codex.
The witches and Patricia were gathered, attentive.
Otrho, connected via hologram from Marco Norte, observed silently.
—
Kael began the debriefing:
— Mission DALL·E concluded.
— Abyss intervention detected and neutralized.
— Artifacts recovered for further analysis.
He turned his gaze to Samantha and Amina:
— Preliminary evaluation?
Amina spoke first:
— The Disjunction Core was still in a latent phase. It hadn't triggered the main fissure.
— But its energy pattern is sophisticated... different from anything we've cataloged before.
Samantha added:
— The Codex suggests there was a plan for multiple temporal insertions. It was not an isolated action.
—
Claudia crossed her arms:
— Does that mean we can expect more?
Kael replied without hesitation:
— It means we are already on the board.
— And we cannot be passive pieces.
—
Patricia was organizing the information into the Base's internal system.
The report would be transmitted to the League once completed.
Kael knew: the League's response would come.
But perhaps the time to prepare would be short.
The Abyss had already touched the timeline.
Now, it would try to tear it apart.
—
Otrho, from the other side of the communication, spoke for the first time:
— Be ready. Marco Norte has felt different vibrations as well.
— And when the earth trembles, the Sky watches.
Kael simply nodded.
—
Before closing the meeting, Kael said:
— Today's victory is not final.
— We have merely delayed the storm.
The group understood.
Each in their own way.
Each silently carrying the responsibility that only those who know the true weight of time can bear.
