The warped dimension broke apart behind that final word, and a heartbeat later the battlefield of Thorne Territory was still there beneath a sky choked by smoke, ash, and mana residue. Monsters still pushed against broken lines out of habit, instinct, or simple refusal to die quietly. Soldiers were still fighting with tired arms and dulled reactions. Mages stood pale and trembling behind cracked barriers, forcing one more cast out of bodies that had already given too much.
No one knew what had happened to Noel and Roberto. They had only felt the clash disappear, and after that the world had continued demanding blood.
Then the air above the battlefield distorted.
