Eve's POV:
The full weight of that realization hit me like a ton of bricks. My mind was screaming in overdrive—why the hell was I so stupid? Of course, he'd be furious! He was probably enraged, blood boiling, and I had just given him a reason to hunt me down.
I threw the book across the room, not even caring about the precious pages or the fact that I was about to go from a nobody to a royal target.
"Oh, my poor dark soul," I groaned, pressing my hands to my face. This is it.
I had locked up and milked—milked!—the Vampire King of his blood. I was so damn screwed. How the hell was I going to survive this? What kind of idiot steals royal blood and thinks it's all going to be fine? The universe was clearly punishing me for all the bad decisions I had made in the past few months.
"SALEM! YOU STUPID FAMILIAR!" I bellowed, throwing the pillow across the room straight at the lazy furball who had, at some point during all of this, decided to take a nap in a corner of my bed.
