Eve POV:
"You do know you could block him from your mind?" Salem finally said, his tone so casual that it made my blood boil.
What. On. Earth.
"You little—" I didn't even finish my sentence, my brain still trying to process what he just said. My mind was racing, all sorts of curse words ready to fly, but before I could even get one out, Salem cut me off with that infuriatingly smug tone of his.
"Aha, words. Check your words, young lady," he said, as if I wasn't about to explode into a full-on meltdown.
"Oh my God, I can't believe you!" I was losing it now, my hands trembling with anger as I threw the shoe I was holding onto the couch, missing him by inches. "Why the hell didn't you tell me this sooner?! You knew, Salem. You knew from the first time Lucius invaded my dreams, and you didn't say a damn word! You just let it happen again, knowing there was a way to block him out!"
