Chapter 109: Singing a Melodious Song Under the Moonlight
After parting ways with Di Di, Bai Feng returned to his Room.
Upon reaching the Room, Bai Feng released all his Pokémon and prepared Pokéblocks for each of them.
Bai Feng only released the Kricketune after preparing dinner for his Pokémon.
Seeing the Room filled with strangers and unfamiliar Pokémon, the Kricketune couldn't help but flinch. It didn't know how many times it had changed masters, so facing a new master, it couldn't help but feel fear.
It was a Pokémon specifically raised by spoiled rich kids for their amusement. Because it was skilled at playing various music, it was traded back and forth among that group of spoiled kids. The Kricketune itself couldn't remember how many masters it had had.
In fact, it had only been in Danny's hands for a few short weeks.
As the number of times it changed masters increased, the Kricketune became disheartened. The music it played gradually lost its vibrancy, and thus it became increasingly disliked.
Sure enough, it was ultimately traded to a new master?
Thinking this, the Kricketune couldn't help but lower its head slightly, not daring to look at Bai Feng.
"Kricketune." Bai Feng looked at the timid Kricketune before him and felt a headache for a moment, but he could probably guess why the Kricketune was like this.
At school, the teachers had taught them about this. Pokémon's emotions are mostly very delicate. Frequently changing Pokémon Trainers can make them very uneasy and can even cause them to lose trust in humans.
"Don't worry, I won't trade you away casually like Danny did. Of course, if you want to leave, you can tell me directly, and I can let you go."
Hearing Bai Feng's words, the Kricketune quickly shook its head.
It had been a Pokémon raised by humans since birth. Its strength wasn't strong at all; it was mainly for display. If it left a Pokémon Trainer, it might starve to death.
Seeing this, Bai Feng sighed and said, "Then just stay here peacefully. You don't need to worry about anything else."
Bai Feng's words didn't bring the Kricketune much sense of security. Its trust in humans had long been completely depleted.
After everyone finished eating, Bai Feng instructed everyone to rest early.
At night, the Room was completely dark. The Kricketune lay among many Pokémon but couldn't fall asleep no matter what. So, it quietly got up, walked to the window, and silently watched the bright moon outside.
Just then, the Brionne heard the movement and opened its eyes. Using the bright moonlight, it saw the Kricketune standing by the window.
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
The Brionne asked curiously.
"Ga~" Can't sleep.
The Kricketune replied.
I see! The Brionne instantly understood. New Pokémon often joined at Fangxing Mountain, and they would feel uneasy at first. The Kricketune must be feeling the same way, right?
The Brionne rubbed its sleepy eyes, walked up to the Kricketune, and said, "Since you can't sleep, how about I take you outside for a walk?"
The Kricketune asked doubtfully, "Is that okay? What if we get caught?" It had never gone against its master's wishes, let alone sneak out at night without permission.
"It's fine, it's fine. If we get caught, we get caught. Bai Feng won't blame us," the Brionne said carelessly.
After saying that, it climbed out the window and even waved back at the Kricketune. The Kricketune felt helpless and could only obediently follow the Brionne.
However, it didn't need to climb the window because it could fly!
Soon, the two Pokémon quietly slipped onto the Deck. What they didn't know was that as soon as they climbed out the window, Bai Feng opened his eyes and sat up.
But after thinking about it, he lay back down on the bed.
Although Bai Feng and the others went to bed early, there were plenty of people on this Cruise Ship partying all night, so people were often walking back and forth on the Deck.
The arrival of the Brionne and the Kricketune didn't attract anyone's attention because most people here had Pokémon with them. When they were having fun, their Pokémon would also join in the fun.
So there were many Pokémon like them wandering around on the Deck.
Just then, the Kricketune suddenly saw a person, and its expression suddenly changed, which was noticed by the Brionne.
It followed the Kricketune's gaze and saw an old man in a tuxedo not far away trying to invite a young woman to spend the night with him.
Unfortunately, the young woman refused the old man.
"Is he the one who gambled you away?" The Brionne immediately guessed the person's identity.
The Kricketune nodded with an embarrassed expression. It was a little afraid of Danny, so it didn't want him to see it.
"Come with me."
Just then, the Brionne suddenly thought of something. It smiled slyly, then pulled the Kricketune aside to hide.
After being rejected by the young woman, Danny was cursing and about to leave. The Brionne, hidden in the dark, suddenly spat a mouthful of saliva at his feet. The next second, Danny fell flat on his face.
"Ahhh!!!"
Falling like that wasn't easy on Danny's old bones. Just as he was about to get up, he suddenly heard beautiful singing. It was like the singing of a beautiful young girl, stirring Danny's imagination.
But the next second, his head tilted, and he fell asleep on the ground.
"Hehehe~~" The Brionne covered its mouth and snickered. It had just used the Sing move.
"Come help!" The Brionne said to the Kricketune.
The Kricketune was a little hesitant. It knew the Brionne was definitely going to prank Danny, so it hesitated to step forward.
The Brionne patted it and said, "What are you afraid of? He's not your master anymore, he can't hurt you."
The Brionne had already heard about the Kricketune's situation from Bai Feng and Bai Ye. It hated people like that the most in its life because it had also had similar experiences.
Knowing that the Brionne was getting revenge for it, the Kricketune finally mustered up the courage to walk out.
The two Pokémon walked over and moved Danny to a corner. The Kricketune asked the Brionne what to do. The Brionne said to find a rope and hang Danny up for the whole night to properly vent the Kricketune's anger.
After learning about the Brionne's plan, the Kricketune told the Brionne there was no need to find a rope. It knew the Sticky Web move and could stick Danny directly to the wall.
Soon, the two Pokémon found a hidden spot, hung Danny on the wall, and then stuck him there with Sticky Web, ensuring that no one would come to rescue him and he definitely couldn't break free.
After doing all this, the two Pokémon quietly left again. What they didn't know was that all their actions were recorded by the surveillance cameras and reported to Di Di.
"What should we do, Boss? Should we go rescue Mr. Danny?" an Employee asked.
Di Di chuckled lightly and said, "No... no need. Let my good uncle stay on the wall and sober up a bit. It'll save him from constantly doing foolish things."
"Yes!" the Subordinate replied, lowering his head.
Di Di turned to leave the Monitoring Room, but suddenly thought of something. He turned back and instructed his Subordinate, "Oh, right, delete that recording from just now."
"Yes."
"Hahaha..." Di Di laughed as he returned to his Room.
Having done something exciting, the Brionne pulled the Kricketune and kept running forward. They didn't know how long they ran, but they ran from the Bow to the Stern.
There was no light here; it was even on the dark side of the moonlight, just a pitch-black area.
"Hahaha!!!" The Brionne laughed happily.
Since birth, the Kricketune had always been taught to follow rules and obey its master. It served its master, not a Pokémon Trainer, and had never done anything out of line.
After doing what they did today, its heart kept pounding as if it would leap out of its chest. It looked at the Brionne laughing heartily and, somehow, started laughing along.
As it laughed, the Kricketune realized its cheeks had become completely wet at some point.
Because the light was too dim, the Brionne didn't see the Kricketune crying. It only heard the Kricketune laughing with it, laughing very freely.
When they stopped laughing, the Brionne suddenly said, "I'll sing for you."
"Okay." The Kricketune nodded.
So the Brionne lay on the railing and began to sing a gentle song. It was a lullaby it had learned from television.
The singing drifted further and further, as if carrying the Kricketune's thoughts far away.
As the Brionne was singing, it suddenly heard an accompaniment beside it. The music was so melodious, making the Brionne sing more and more cheerfully.
At this moment, the Kricketune felt as if it had found itself again, back when it first evolved from a Kricketot into a Kricketune. At that time, it was still full of hope for its future life and had the expectation that its master would take it to create many beautiful tunes.
The music it played back then was just as beautiful as it was now.
The two Pokémon stayed outside until very late before returning to the Room.
The next morning, everyone got up early, but only the Brionne and the Kricketune were still sound asleep. So Bai Feng instructed everyone not to disturb them and let them continue sleeping.
Leaving the two Pokémon to sleep in the Room, Bai Feng took the other Pokémon to eat breakfast. After breakfast, he planned to go to the Training Room for training.
Just then, he suddenly heard people discussing something. He walked over to listen and found out that Mr. Danny had been hung on the wall all night and was now furiously searching for the culprit this morning.
Bai Feng couldn't help but chuckle inwardly when he heard this.
Needless to say, it must have been the Brionne. It was capable of doing something like this.
Just as Bai Feng was about to leave, Danny suddenly noticed him.
"Stop!"
Danny shouted loudly.
Bai Feng turned around and pointed to himself, "Is Mr. Danny talking about me?"
It was as if Danny had wheels of fire on his feet; he was walking so fast he was almost flying.
He angrily came up to Bai Feng, pointed at him, and said, "Who else could it be but you? Was it you last night? Was it you?" he questioned angrily and assertively.
"Are you referring to being hung up all night?" Bai Feng asked, suppressing a smile.
"Are you still playing dumb with me?" Danny was practically stamping his feet.
"Mr. Danny, please don't just make accusations without evidence," Bai Feng said.
"Who else could it be besides you? We just had a conflict during the day, and then something happened to me at night. Who else could it be but you?" Danny stared intently at Bai Feng, seemingly trying to read something from Bai Feng's face.
Unfortunately, he was disappointed.
Bai Feng spread his hands, "I said it wasn't me. There's nothing I can do if you don't believe me."
Danny wanted to say something else, but just then, Di Di walked over.
"Uncle, haven't you caused enough trouble?"
Danny was about to explode with anger, "I was hung up all night, and you're saying I'm causing trouble? Are you even my nephew?!"
Di Di said with a straight face, "You didn't see what the culprit looked like yourself, who can you blame?"
Danny pointed at Bai Feng and shouted, "It must be him!"
Di Di asked, "Where's the evidence? Where's the evidence?"
Danny was speechless.
"Ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh!"
After a few seconds of silence, Danny yelled and ran away.
Seeing this, Di Di walked up to Bai Feng and said, "My unreliable uncle is causing trouble again. Little Brother Bai Feng, please don't mind him. I hope you have a pleasant day on the Cruise Ship."
After saying that, Di Di hummed a little tune and left.
Danny's unreasonable behavior was just a small interlude for Bai Feng; he didn't take it to heart.
Upon reaching the Training Room, Bai Feng instructed the Pokémon to do their individual training, while he began teaching Bai Ye how to use Double Team and Teleport.
Bai Feng had long coveted Calyrex's Gardevoir's Teleport, so before parting ways with Calyrex, he specifically asked Calyrex's Gardevoir to teach him this move and also learned Double Team while he was at it.
If there hadn't been enough time, he would have wanted to learn a few more moves!
To prevent forgetting halfway, Bai Feng also wrote down the pattern of Gardevoir's energy flow when using these two moves on paper.
Now that they had free time on the ship, it was a good opportunity to let Bai Ye learn the moves.
"Mother, let's learn Double Team first. This move is relatively simpler."
"Gardevoir~ Gardevoir~" I'll listen to my darling!
"Alright then, feel my guidance carefully later."
Saying this, Bai Feng placed his hand on Bai Ye's back and input Golden Finger Energy, guiding it to feel how to circulate Origin Energy when using Double Team.
Bai Ye closed its eyes and focused intently. It was much smarter than the Brionne and the Heliolisk and quickly memorized it completely.
This was probably the difference in intelligence between Psychic Pokémon and ordinary Pokémon. Although Bai Ye was a bit silly, its intelligence wasn't low.
On the other side, the Brionne and the Kricketune finally woke up after sleeping soundly.
Seeing that there was no one in the Room, the Brionne calmly looked around, then immediately saw the Pokéblocks Bai Feng had prepared for them in advance, and happily ran over to eat.
But the Kricketune was different. Because it had overslept, it looked very anxious and paced back and forth in the Room.
Seeing this, the Brionne asked doubtfully, "What's wrong? Come eat quickly." Saying this, it pointed to the plate of Pokéblocks next to it, which was clearly prepared by Bai Feng for the Kricketune.
"We woke up so late, will master blame us?" the Kricketune asked. It habitually referred to Bai Feng as master.
The Brionne patted it and said, "No, he won't. Since you're following Bai Feng from now on, forget those unpleasant pasts and start everything anew."
Under the Brionne's comfort, the Kricketune finally stopped being so restless, but it was still anxious inside. In the end, it could only finish the Pokéblocks with a heavy heart.
Not long after, Bai Feng returned with everyone. Seeing that the Brionne and the Kricketune had just finished eating, he teased, "Oh, you two are finally up. What were you doing last night?"
Hearing Bai Feng's words, the Kricketune became anxious again. It rubbed its hands back and forth, feeling like it couldn't sit or stand properly for a moment.
As soon as the Brionne saw Bai Feng return, it immediately happily pounced over, hugging his leg and constantly acting spoiled.
Bai Feng patted its head and said helplessly, "Always acting spoiled."
After that, Bai Feng indeed didn't mention the two Pokémon oversleeping again. Gradually, the Kricketune began to believe the Brionne's words.
