Subaru's POV:
I sat on the bed in shock, my left hand clutched the side of my head, shaking slightly.
My pupils were contracted to the point they resembled pin pricks while my breathing was labored and slow.
'What....what happened? How did i....'
"Sir sir, you don't seem to be feeling well. Are you alright?
"Sir sir, you seem to be having a stomachache, you didn't soil yourself, did you?"
My thoughts were cut short, hearing rem and ram call me sir again was somehow felt awfully painful.
They may have been harsh and insensivity, but they were my colleagues. My fellow co-workers.
I took a deep breath and got out of the bed, slipping the grey robe off, I shakily made my way toward the door.
"Sorry... I'm not feeling well, would you mind taking me out to get some fresh air?"
I asked, turning my head to give the confused and concerned maid sisters a shaky smile with my eyes closed, hiding the confusion and fear from them.
On my way out, I felt her presence again, in the second last door of the corridor.
Tho I wished to have a conversation with the blonde spirit, my mind was in too much of a disarray to hold a proper one with the grumpy great spirit.
Soon we were in the same green fields, the ones where I spent time with Emilia last time. Where we would sit in the night and she would listen to my stories.
Just like in the previous loop, I began meditating again but this time, it was for a different reason.
The shakiness and confusion slowly dissolved into gentle calm and cold calculative thinking.
But this was different from the last loop, unlike last time, there was no change in the emotional burden.
In fact, it actually felt heavier than the previous round, the clear mind flooded itself with pain of regrets and burden of guilt.
Suddenly, the glowing letters appeared infront of me with a single thought, it was a basic instinct I had that took time to get rid of, never expecting to be able to see these runes again.

I thought, clenching and unclenching my fist, feeling the muscles that were once condensed under the increased gravity to become super human return back to peak human condition.
But through channeling the energy inside, I found something interesting. My muscles were rapidly becoming more denser as new muscle fibers formed.
'My body.... its growing rapidly to accommodate the sudden stat boost.....'
I thought, subtly turning the golden flames surrounding my body into vital energy, helping the process of the sudden muscle growth to become more stable.
'The skills I obtained are still here and their levels are still the same. Now.... how did I die?'
The thought that was the most pressing matter finally came up, making me drop the meditation and lay down in the now small field of glowing golden tulips.
'I know my senses were dulled but I have already leveled up my sensory skills to high enough levels that it almost completely counters the dulled sensation.'
'Well, I guess that wouldn't really work since this whole place is.... wait. I can't sense ros-san. Oh wait, he wasn't at the mansion at this point in time.'
Releasing a tired breath, I closed my eyes and decided to look in my soul. My thoughts vanished and so did my consciousness, diving deeper into the gap between mind and body.
It was still as dark as before, the two orbs of power were still present, bigger than before but what caught my attention was the the star that glowed brightly in the dark void.
"Yeah... it's not the time to be sulking and beating myself up. I need to find the cause of my death. If I died, that means emilia and others would also be in danger. Well, except for ros-san."
With the new found determination, I returned to the conscious world sprung my body forward to sit upright. Only for my forehead to crash into something quite hard.
Through the pain and ringing I heard a groan. Blinking to stabilize my blurry vision, I saw emilia holding her head, a big red bump on her forehead.
"Owww... that hurts."
She said, grimacing in pain while rubbing the point of impact before looking up and pouting in annoyance.
"Subaru, you big dunderhead! Don't jump like that all of a sudden!"
I smiled sheepishly, rubbing my own forehead, the previous conflict forgotten in the back of my mind.
"Sorry emilia-tan, I didn't mean to do that. But, what are you doing here?"
She continued to rub her forehead and pointed behind me. Turning my head, I saw rem standing near the entrance to the manor.
"Ram told me you were not feeling well so I came to check if you are alright. how are you feeling? Are you in pain? Do you want me to use healing magic?"
She asked, worry lacing her voice making my heart lighter. I smiled and laid back down on my cross arms.
"Well, I probably died last night. Woke up with the worst headache, met a rude loli, got sucked dry of mana and then got used as a means to check the sturdiness of the mansion wall. Now? I'm feeling like my muscles are being crushed while my brain feels like its been beaten with a bat. All in all, I'm alright."
I said with the most cheerful voice I could muster while forming the perfect way to find the killer.
"That a relie- wait that's not good at all!"
She shouted, her panic rising which made me smile and let out a small chuckle. Then, her silver hair shifted a bit and a gray cat crawled out from behind her neck, rubbing his eyes sleepy.
"Mmmm... hi subaru great morning, isn't it. I can't thank you enough for yesterday. I have to thank you somehow."
He said, half asleep giving me a sense of comfort that puck will be with Emilia if something happens to her.
I reached out and gently took the half asleep cat in my hands and begin to softly rub his gray fur.
"Hehe, if you want to thank me then just let me pet your fur from time to time."
"That's all?"
Emilia looked surprised and confused at my simple request but I didn't give it any mind, instead playing with the small sleepy cat who purred cutely.
"Well then, let's get going. I'm feeling better now after seeing you both are fine."
I said, getting up and stretching out my free hand for her to grab while holding puck in the other.
'Whoever it was'
Scene changes to inside the dining hall, sitting next to emilia as ros-san explained the lugunica's situation.
'I'll find them.'
Ros-san stretched his arms out telling me to ask anything for saving emilia.
'And when I do....'
I smiled, entangling my ten fingers, resting my chin on them and spoke.
"Hire me to work for you."
'They'll regret being born!'
