Chapter 145 - Chapter 126: Artemis and Ace's Wedding

By the time Tet was done doing everything and gathering all the guests that were scattered about, the wedding day had already arrived. Completely exhausted, Tet did what he usually did when he was tired and face-planted directly into one of his fiancées' thighs. This time, it was Vesta's.

"My poor, tired darling," Vesta said warmly as she gently rubbed Tet's head, her touch soothing and affectionate.

"No more work for a while," Tet mumbled into Vesta's legs, his voice muffled and drained.

"Dear, get up and get dressed," Hestia shouted as she entered the room.

She was wearing a beautiful blue dress with silver trim placed in just the right spots, the fabric hugging her perfectly. White high heels adorned her feet, and her long brown hair was tied into an elegant bun, held in place by a gold hairpin with a sapphire queen piece set into the top. In her hands, she held up a black tuxedo.

"Vesta isn't dressed yet either," Tet groaned into Vesta's legs, refusing to move.

"Look again, dear," Vesta said smugly.

Tet lifted his head from her lap and froze.

Vesta was wearing a dress similar to Hestia's, except hers was a deep crimson with gold trim that shimmered subtly in the light. She wore black high heels, and her long black hair was styled the same way as Hestia's, held up by a gold hairpin set with a ruby queen piece in the top.

"Both of you look incredible," Tet said, unable to take his eyes off of them. "You both somehow managed to look cute and sexy at the same time."

"Oh, thank you, darling," both women said together, their cheeks flushing as they wore lovestruck expressions.

"But you know," Hestia started, her expression turning sultry, her eyes glinting with mischief, "if you like our dresses, just wait…"

"You'll love what's underneath," Vesta finished with the same teasing look.

"I'm awake now," Tet said quickly, doing his best to act normal as he took his tux from Hestia and hurried out of the room, walking with a noticeable hunch.

Both women watched him leave with matching smirks.

After a few minutes, Tet returned fully dressed in his tuxedo, the fit sharp and elegant. His white hair was slicked back neatly as he checked himself in the mirror. When he turned around, Hestia and Vesta both gasped in shock, then rushed over and hugged Tet tightly in happiness.

Around his neck hung a gold pendant in the shape of a hearth, a diamond king piece was set in the center being embraced on all sides by Sapphire and Ruby flames.

"Well, you two are wearing those hairpins, so I figured I should wear something symbolic of our relationship as well," Tet said, his face turning red as he smiled shyly.

"We love you, darling," both women said softly as they kissed his cheeks, both as Happy as possible.

The wedding venue was set in Tet's massive garden, a sprawling sea of greenery and carefully arranged decorations. All the attendees were dressed up for the occasion, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement and curiosity.

Garp stood tall in his formal naval uniform, which Tet had very deliberately turned navy blue.

"Why'd he have to change my uniform's color?" Garp grumbled, crossing his arms in irritation.

Whitebeard stood nearby in his own formal captain's attire, which consisted of a long black coat with gold epaulettes and a red lining, his jolly roger emblazoned proudly across the back. Underneath, he wore a black button-down shirt, khaki pants, and black boots, topped off with a black-and-gold hat.

"You're telling me he even dyed my outfit," Whitebeard said with a heavy sigh, shaking his head.

"That's because only the bride can wear white on her wedding day, Pops. You're both lucky he did it before someone got upset," Marco said for the fifth time, straightening his tie.

"That said, after this, I never wanna wear a suit again. I don't know how people wear these things," Marco added, tugging at his collar with a grimace.

"Luffy, if you try to get out of that suit again, I'll make sure you don't get any food," Nami said sharply as she glared at her captain.

"But it's so uncomfortable, and it itches," Luffy complained, scratching at his neck and shifting restlessly.

One by one, all the guests arrived, some of them requiring Tet to bring them personally. Arriving through one of Tet's shimmering portals were Ares and Thor, both dressed in formal attire.

"Never thought I'd be attending the wedding of the biggest prude on Olympus. The world really is different," Ares said as he made his way toward the drinks, sounding half-amused and half-bewildered.

"Yes, I can't believe the goddess Artemis settled down with someone. It's really unbelievable," Thor said thoughtfully as he picked up a glass of whiskey.

"Attending a divine wedding is something I've never done before," Gilgamesh said as he stepped out of the portal, surveying the scene with interest.

"You only came because the boss is gonna drop us off at the exact point we left and you want away from your paperwork," Ares said bluntly, casting him a knowing look.

"I shall neither confirm nor deny that," Gilgamesh replied smoothly. "Oh, look, my future assistant. I think I'll go introduce myself," he added eagerly as his gaze locked onto Robin and he strode off toward her.

Sanji and the other three cooks, now dressed for the wedding, looked over their work one final time. Sanji carefully inspected the wedding cake, looking over the cake as his sharp eyes searched for even the smallest imperfection. After a long moment, he finally straightened up, satisfied. At last, they were all content with everything laid out before them.

"It took a lot of work, but it's done," Sanji said, his voice carrying both exhaustion and pride as he and the other three chefs admired their work with tired yet accomplished eyes.

"Looks great, everybody. As promised, here's your reward," Tet said warmly as he handed four envelopes to them.

"My reward is to be on the judging panel for a competition at a super famous culinary school in another world," Sanji said with surprise, his eyebrows lifting as he read the contents.

"Yep. I figured you might enjoy that, plus some of the judges are pretty ladies around your age," Tet said with a knowing smile.

"I love it," Sanji said immediately, his fatigue vanishing in an instant.

Ace stood at the altar, shifting his weight slightly as Hermes helped him make the final adjustments to his tuxedo, straightening seams and brushing away imaginary lint.

"I'm so damn nervous," Ace said, fidgeting with his bowtie, his hands trembling just a bit.

"About marrying a goddess or becoming a god?" Hermes asked casually as he smoothed Ace's coat and adjusted the collar with practiced ease.

"Wait, nobody told me I was gonna be a god," Ace said in shock, his eyes widening as he froze in place.

"Oh yeah. My uncle was originally gonna make you immortal so you two could be together forever, but then he realized you'd make a great God of Fire and Revelry," Hermes explained excitedly, his grin stretching wide.

"Wait, so like… I'd be the god of fire and parties?" Ace asked curiously, disbelief mixing with intrigue.

"Yep. Our God of Revelry was also the god of wine and madness. We all decided to retire him 'cause we didn't like the way he was treating our kids. I once caught him turning one of my kids into a squirrel and chasing him with a car," Hermes said matter-of-factly.

"What the hell did you do?" Ace asked.

"I chased him down, broke every bone in his body, then ran him over with his own car," Hermes said with a bright, unsettling smile.

"Okay… remind me never to piss you off," Ace said, staring at him with wide eyes.

"Anyway, we can't decide which of your three brothers should be your best man. Luffy, Marco, or Sabo," Hermes said thoughtfully, tapping his chin.

"What do you mean my brother Sabo is dead," Ace said in confusion, his brow furrowing as he stared at Hermes.

"Check again," Hermes said lightly, pointing off to the side.

Ace followed his gesture and froze. Luffy was crying like a baby, wrapped tightly around a tall, young blonde man with black eyes and a scar over his left eye. The man was dressed in formal wear and wore a top hat, standing awkwardly as Luffy sobbed into him.

"Excuse me, Hermes. I have to go pay my long-lost younger brother a beating. I mean… visit," Ace said, his expression torn between joy and barely contained anger.

"Take your time. We've got about an hour left till the wedding begins," Hermes said with an understanding smile.

Ace ran over to his brothers and immediately conked Sabo on the head before pulling him into a tight hug.

"Well, while everyone else is mingling, I might as well go and try recruiting fresh talent," Hermes said to himself as he casually walked off toward Nami.

-------

Tet sat comfortably between Hestia and Vesta, relaxed as he watched Hades take a seat beside Persephone. Hades was dressed in his formal robes, dark and elegant, while Persephone wore a beautiful green dress trimmed with yellow that seemed to glow softly in the garden light.

"Never thought this would be happening," Hades said in mild surprise, glancing around at the wedding with a faint smile.

"You're like the seventh person to say that today, and why do you sound shocked? Your invitation went out weeks ago," Hestia said, raising an eyebrow at him.

"He only just checked the mail a couple days ago. He's been too immersed in the expansion of the Underworld. Sirzechs recently informed him that devils and angels don't have an afterlife, so he's been building them one, like the sweet man he is," Persephone said fondly as she smiled and hugged Hades's side.

"Dear, not in front of my sisters and brother-in-law," Hades said, blushing as he cleared his throat.

"Anyway, Tet, were the demigods not invited? I see Freya, the female Hephaestus, and Chiron mingling with the other guests," Hades asked curiously, gesturing subtly toward the crowd.

"You can just call her Hephaestus, Hades, and no, they weren't. But I did give them all a party so they wouldn't feel left out. Then, because some of Hermes's kids pulled a prank on me, I trapped them in Mario Party for the evening," Tet said with a bright, unapologetic smile.

"Those poor kids," Hestia said, shaking her head with amused sympathy.

After a while, it was finally time to get started. Everyone took their seats as they saw Leto, Sabo, and Zoe walk up to the altar, their footsteps echoing softly through the venue. Then everyone stood as Apollo began to play Here Comes the Bride on a lyre. Tet thought it was an odd choice, but it was Apollo's favorite instrument.

Moments later, Hades walked into the venue, escorting Artemis. She was dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown that flowed elegantly with each step. Once they reached the altar, Hades gently presented Artemis to Ace and then turned and returned to his seat.

Leto began the ceremony, her voice steady and formal, and after a while (Author's Note: 'cause I'm not writing a whole wedding ceremony), Leto said, "Are there any who object to this union?"

Tet glanced toward the Huntresses and saw several of them being restrained and gagged by arms that had mysteriously appeared around their bodies, their furious expressions doing nothing to change the outcome.

Then Leto said, "You may kiss the bride."

Ace and Artemis kissed, and the moment the two of them did, everyone stood as one, cheering loudly as the garden filled with celebration and joy.

Artemis smirked knowingly at Tet, her eyes glinting with mischief, then turned around and threw the bouquet over her shoulder. Somehow, impossibly, it split in half midair, the flowers drifting down as if guided by fate. The two halves landed perfectly in Hestia's and Vesta's laps.

"She did that on purpose," Tet said with an exasperated smile, rubbing the back of his neck as both goddesses stared down at the bouquets in stunned silence.

-------

At the reception, after everyone had eaten their fill and the atmosphere had settled into a warm, satisfied buzz, it was finally time to give out the wedding presents.

Hestia, Vesta, and Leto stepped forward first, presenting the couple with tons of baby clothes that the three of them had spent an incredible amount of time hand-making and carefully enchanting. Those clothes could tank dragon fire if need be, each stitch woven with love and protection.

Next came Hades and Persephone. Hades gifted them a hellhound cub, small for now but already brimming with potential, while Persephone bestowed an enchanted garden that would change the plants inside it with the seasons, ensuring life and beauty wherever they settled.

Luffy gave them a Sea King, just as promised, grinning proudly as it was revealed.

Then Garp and Whitebeard presented Manda's taxidermied corpse, the sheer scale of it drawing stunned reactions from the crowd.

Freya followed, offering a pair of bracelets that would always let them know where their children were, no matter the distance. Hephaestus then presented an enchanted bow and spear, both crafted from Manda's bones, radiating power and craftsmanship.

Finally, it was Tet's turn. He gave the two of them the Black Pearl, which he had modified to be capable of traveling to other worlds, so the couple could sail for as long as they wanted, wherever their hearts took them.

And with that, the wedding came to an end, as the married couple set sail on their honeymoon.
