Chapter 142 - Lucifer Goes For A Walk Part 2

As Lucifer and Maze sat at the bar drinking from Husk, a smooth yet crackling voice said, "So you're supposed to be the Lucifer of another universe, right?"

"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Alastor, though folks around here call me the Radio Demon."

Lucifer glanced at Alastor and sighed, saying, "Oh, wonderful. Another serial killer with illusions of grandeur."

Alastor looked a bit flustered and asked, "How could you possibly know I'm a serial killer?"

Lucifer replied, "Your sins can't be hidden from my eyes. Before me, all that you are is laid bare. If someone like you is running around free, my other self really isn't doing his job."

Satan then stepped over and said, "No, he isn't. In fact, he gave heaven permission to exterminate the souls of sinners."

Lucifer responded, "Yes, and about that — I can't believe heaven, of all places, is going through with that. Destroying a soul, no matter how corrupt and evil, is one of the most blasphemous things you can do. Even I wouldn't do it."

Satan said, "I tried to tell him that, but he just kept going on and on about how hell is overpopulated."

Lucifer looked confused and said, "Hell is infinite. It can't get overpopulated. All he has to do is open a new ring to handle the overflow."

Alastor asked, "If it's that simple, then why hasn't your other self done so?"

Lucifer replied, "Maybe he can't." He then looked at Satan and asked, "How much authority does he have down here?"

Satan answered, "Far less than he should. Heaven's put some very restricting limits on him."

Lucifer sighed, "Oh, lovely. Well, we'll sort that out later." Lucifer then took a drink and said, "Let's go and prepare to greet our guest in style, shall we?"

------

A massive, swirling golden portal tore open in the sky above the hotel, and out of it came Adam and many of his Exorcist angels, sadistic grins stretched across their faces. Adam led them personally, eyes gleaming with cruel anticipation. He and his angels dove headfirst toward the hotel, only to skidder to a sudden stop directly before a large platform made of pure energy floating in the sky. Upon it sat seven thrones, each occupied by the most powerful beings in Hell, their presences bursting with energy . Every one of them stared daggers at the intruders, Mammon stared in glee, Beelzebub stared with excitement,Belphegor stared with boredom, Leviathan stared with hatred,Asmodeus stared in disapproval,Satan Stared in anger, and Lucifer with his face shadowed and hidden from view simply stared with piercing crimson eyes full of power.

"What the fuck is this?" Adam demanded, his grin faltering as his jaw tightened.

"Angel Adam, we, the Seven Deadly Sins, find you and your Exorcists guilty of multiple breaches of your contract," Satan proclaimed, his voice calm and cold, eyes half-lidded as if the outcome was already decided.

"What fucking part—" Adam shouted, veins standing out along his neck as disbelief bled into fury.

"Mammon, will you do the honors?" Satan said casually, leaning back slightly upon his throne.

"Of fucking course I will," Mammon said with glee, grinning wider as his eyes gleamed with delight. He brought out a long document, unrolling it as he dramatically put on a pair of reading glasses, and started to read aloud.

"First breach of contract: beginning the extermination early without the consent of at least five Sins. Second breach of contract: declaring intent to attack a Hellborn. Third breach of contract: declaring intent to attack Hell's royalty. Fourth breach of contract: intent to attack an enterprise with the backing of six out of the seven Sins. Final breach of contract: not notifying at least five of the Sins of your impending arrival," Mammon finished gleefully, every word making his grin wider.

"I thought I only had to deal with Lucifer!" Adam shouted, eyes blazing as his frustration finally snapped free.

"Well, you thought wrong, you stupid fuck nugget!" Mammon shouted back, laughing happily.

"The point is, you're in multiple violations of your contract. Proceed with your current course of action, and we will get involved directly," said Satan ominously. As he spoke, the air grew heavy.

"I'm not going anywhere," Adam said arrogantly, his face showing his irritation.

"So be it," Satan said with grim finality as he and the other Sins grew serious and stood from their thrones, each one raising their hands toward the invading Adam and his angels.

Adam and his angels got ready to attack, until they found themselves surrounded in a prison made of energy. They beat on it with everything they had, desperately trying to break free.

"You can't do this! Heaven will come for you! It'll be war!" Adam shouted with desperation and anger, his face morphing from arrogance to fear.

"We don't care," Lucifer said dismissively.

Then, all at once, the Sins closed their open hands, and the energy prison shrunk until everything inside it was crushed into a bloody paste.

-----

Lucifer and the Sins sat on top of the hotel, sharing drinks.

"Did you see his fucking face at the end? The panic and fear. Oh, it reminds me of the old days when we actually did shit," Mammon said, laughing loudly, a big grin stretched across his face as he leaned back in his chair.

The other Sins laughed along with him in joy.

"I know, right? I've missed this," Beelzebub said, catching her breath as she wiped a tear of laughter from the corner of her eye.

"So what happened to the other me that turned him into such a buzzkill?" Lucifer asked, a slight frown creasing his face as he stared into his drink.

"He lost his spark in the beginning Lucy was full of ideas and inspiration, but once he was down here, being exposed to the worst humanity had to offer for so long, he just stopped caring. Then, seven years ago, his wife disappeared with no explanation, and that was it. He became a complete shut-in," Satan explained sadly.

"Well, I'll just have to do something about that before I move on from here now, won't I? Also, you can stop hiding. I already know you're there," Lucifer said, lifting his head and shouting in mild annoyance toward the shadows.

From the darkness, a figure finally stepped forward.

"And here I thought I was being so sneaky," Alastor said smugly, his sharp smile firmly in place.

"Yes, well, not even death can sneak up on me. Don't know why you thought you had a chance. Now, sinner, I have a task for you. You are to patrol this hotel and its surroundings, and protect this place from any further harm," Lucifer said commandingly, his posture straightening as his authority filled the rooftop.

"What's in it for me?" Alastor asked greedily, one eyebrow twitching with interest.

"Absolutely fucking nothing," Lucifer said with a laugh.

Before Alastor could respond, ethereal golden chains appeared out of nowhere and latched directly onto Alastor's soul, binding him to the new duty Lucifer charged him with. His smugness faltered instantly.

"What is this? I didn't make a deal with you!" Alastor shouted in confusion, struggling against the unseen restraints.

Lucifer began laughing loudly, the sound echoing across the rooftop, and said, "I'm the King of Hell, ruler of all demons and sinners. I don't make deals. I give orders, and you follow them whether you want to or not. Now, off with you."

Against his will, Alastor left the rooftop, his feet moving as he was commanded despite his resistance.

The other Sins burst into laughter once more, and Satan pointed at Lucifer, grinning as he said, "You see? Now that's how the King should be. Fuck deals. That's for tricking humans into coming down here."

Mammon raised his drink with a wide grin and said, "Oh i can't wait to see what other kinds of trouble you cause while you're here."

(Authors Note: I tried to write differently this time because while story and dialogue come easy to me expressing character emotion actions and scene description is where I struggle most anyway let me know if I should continue in this direction or stick to what I've been doing cause part of me feels that trying to change now will hurt more than help)
