Dean entered the amphitheater-style classroom wearing black combat boots, black pants, and a black button-down shirt. His favorite pistol was strapped securely to his side, while his new toy rested against his back. He stepped to the front of the room, posture relaxed but commanding, and let his gaze sweep across the students before speaking.
"Good morning, students. I'm Dean Winchester, and I am taking over the combat class for Ms. Goodwitch. Any questions?"
An eager hand shot up almost immediately.
Dean pointed casually. "Yes, Ms. Rose."
Ruby leaned forward in her seat, eyes bright. "What happened to Ms. Goodwitch?"
Dean nodded once. "She had too much on her plate as deputy headmistress and needed to ditch some of her duties. Any other questions? Good. Then let's get started."
He turned his attention toward the back of the room and pointed. "You there, crew cut. Say your name, then pick an opponent."
Cardin stood up confidently. "Cardin Winchester, sir."
Dean muttered under his breath, "Well, that sucks for me."
Cardin smirked and pointed across the room. "I'll take Jauney boy over there."
Jaune stood up, startled. "Me? Why?"
Dean glanced at him. "What's your name, kid?"
"Um, Jaune Arc, sir."
"Alright, get down here."
Jaune moved to the center of the room, clearly nervous, but he still raised his sword and shield, setting his stance as best he could. The fight unfolded exactly as Dean expected. From the very first exchange, Jaune's inexperience was obvious. The kid tried hard, grit written all over his face, but Cardin's mace battered him again and again.
Cardin raised his weapon for another crushing blow.
"Enough," Dean said sharply.
Cardin ignored him and swung anyway.
The entire room went silent as Cardin's mace was stopped cold, inches from the fallen Jaune's head, blocked by Dean's boot. Team RWBY wasn't shocked,But the rest of the class froze.
Dean slowly lowered his foot and glared at Cardin. "When someone can't fight anymore, you stop swinging. This is training, not a death match."
Cardin scoffed. "Come on, teach. I was just trying to help Jauney improve himself."
"That's my job". Dean said."Now back to your seats, both of you."
Jaune quickly returned to his seat, avoiding eye contact. Cardin, however, remained standing.
Dean's eyes narrowed. "To your seat, Mr. Winchester."
Cardin crossed his arms. "I can still fight though. Why don't you let the little bunny take me on next?"
In the crowd, Velvet slowly slid downward in her chair, trying desperately to become invisible.
Dean muttered to himself, "Oh yeah, I've got second-years too. Almost forgot."
He raised his voice. "No, Mr. Winchester. If you still want to fight, raise that mace. I'll give you a fight."
Cardin grinned. "Really? Okay."
Dean calmly removed his weapons and set them aside as Cardin charged. The mace swung down hard, but Dean ducked effortlessly, stepped inside the arc, and punched Cardin square in the face, breaking a massive chunk of his aura.
Cardin staggered, spun, and swung again.
Dean sidestepped, kicked the back of Cardin's knee, and sent him crashing down. Before Cardin could react, Dean brought his elbow down across his skull, slamming him flat to the floor.
The class erupted into applause.
Dean straightened and said, "Thank you. Now, Mr. Winchester, to your seat."
Cardin grumbled as he dragged himself back, face burning with embarrassment, eyes fixed firmly on the floor.
Dean returned to the front of the room and addressed the class. "Today we'll be learning the difference between taking on a mindless enemy like most Grimm and an enemy that can think. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Who can tell me an advantage to fighting a thinking opponent?"
Weiss raised her hand.
"Yes, Miss Schnee."
Weiss spoke confidently. "An opponent with thinking ability can be manipulated through taunts and humiliation tactics, making them more predictable."
"Very good. Now someone give me a disadvantage."
Blake raised her hand. "A thinking opponent is able to plan, use tools, and predict your actions, making them more dangerous."
"Good. Now, going on this information—"
Dean's class continued for a while longer. The majority of his students hung on his every word, absorbing lesson after lesson, and learning far more than they had expected when they walked into the room that morning.
------
After class, as Dean stood at the front of the room gathering his gear and preparing for his next session, the students gradually filed out. All of them, that is, except for Teams RWBY and JNPR.
Ruby suddenly darted forward, barely able to contain herself, and said, "Dean, why didn't you tell us you were coming to Beacon?"
Dean looked up with a relaxed grin and replied, "I didn't plan it. Qrow just sort of threw it out there one night while he was helping me take out a vampire nest."
Yang's eyes widened instantly. "You guys hunted vampires? Why wasn't I invited?"
Dean shrugged casually. "Maybe next time."
Ruby's eyes sparkled as she leaned closer, staring at the weapon strapped to his back. "Oh, is that your new weapon? It looks like a flamethrower."
Dean chuckled softly, clearly amused. "Close. This beauty is something I asked Tet for, along with getting my aura unlocked."
He adjusted his grip and continued, "This is technically a flamethrower. It has three modes. In its basic form, it shoots flames."
With a practiced motion, Dean shifted the weapon. Its shape flowed smoothly, transforming into a sleek, rifle-like form. He held it up slightly.
"In this mode, it fires heat rays reaching around three thousand degrees."
Dean shifted it again. The weapon expanded and reformed into a massive hammer, the gun barrel embedded into the back of the hammerhead.
"In this form, it's a hammer, obviously. But if I fire the gun at the same time, it gives my swings a nasty kick."
Nora stared at the hammer with shining eyes, vibrating with excitement, before suddenly blurting out, "Hammer teacher, teach me your ways!"
Dean blinked, momentarily confused, and said, "That was the plan."
He turned his attention to Jaune, his expression softening slightly but remaining serious. "Anyway, kid, you need serious work, and I'm not saying that to be a jerk."
Jaune rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. "I know I suck. I can't really fight."
Dean shook his head firmly. "No, that's the problem. You can fight. You're just so unsure of yourself, you're getting in your own way. That Cardin guy? He sucks. I could have beaten him by slapping him really hard across the face. I just didn't want to completely destroy him on my first day, 'cause after all, every class needs a clown."
Both teams couldn't help but laugh at that.
Dean raised a hand to regain their attention. "I want Teams RWBY and JNPR to meet me after classes every day from now on. Ozpin recently gave the okay for after-school clubs, so congrats. You're now in the Dean's Boot Camp Club. We meet every day at five. Don't be late."

Back in Tet's villa, the sleeping Tet suddenly jolted awake, sucking in a sharp gasp of air as his eyes flew open. "I survived," he said breathlessly.
He glanced to either side of him and saw Hestia and Vesta, both back in their normal forms. They looked utterly worn out, hair tousled and bodies slack with exhaustion, yet unmistakably happy. Tet let out a tired chuckle and added, "And as exhausting as that was, I want to do it again."
A sleepy Hestia groaned softly, rolled closer, and tugged him back down against the bed. "Later. I can't feel my hips."
Vesta latched onto his other side, pressing close with a weak but content sigh. "Same."
Tet blinked, clearly puzzled despite his fatigue, and said, "Wait, can't we all just heal instantly?"
Both girls answered at the same time, their voices heavy with exhaustion. "Too tired. Sleep now."
Tet shrugged, his resistance melting away as his eyes started to droop again. "Guess I'm not going anywhere for a while."
