Chapter 82 - Chapter 73: Overworked Dragon

Tet floated lazily in the dimensional gap, yawning as he drifted through the endless void. "Wow," he muttered, stretching his arms out wide. "You'd think such a massive dragon would be easier to find."

After searching for a couple of hours, he finally spotted Great Red floating idly.

"Hey, big guy!" Tet shouted, cupping his hands around his mouth. "I need to talk to you!"

Great Red's eyes snapped open, and with a thunderous roar, he surged forward to attack. But just as he closed the distance, he froze mid-flight, claws digging against the emptiness of the gap, when Tet casually flared a fraction of his aura. The pressure was enough to make the dragon tremble.

Great Red's voice rumbled like an earthquake. "What does a being such as yourself want with this universe?"

"I intend to become its God," Tet replied cheerfully, as if discussing the weather. "Ordinarily, I'd challenge the local ruler to a game for possession of the universe, but there doesn't seem to be one. So—I'm just gonna take it. I'm only telling you this as a courtesy, and to warn you not to attack anyone I let in or out of this world. If you do… well, let's just say I have a very powerful huntress who'd love a new dragon-skin coat."

The massive dragon recoiled, trembling as he lowered his head. "Y-yes, sir. I understand. Please… do as you please."

"Awesome!" Tet clapped his hands together with a grin. With a snap of his fingers, he connected the DxD universe to his vast multiverse. A shimmering hole tore open in the dimensional gap. Tet raised his hand, compressing an immense ball of energy until it pulsed with violent intensity, then flicked it casually through the hole.

The sphere traveled into the void, detonating moments later. An entire neighboring universe shattered in silence, wiped away in a blinding explosion.

Great Red swallowed hard. "…Um, my Lord… what was that?"

"Oh, nothing much," Tet said with a playful shrug. "I just blew up the universe next door. Eradicated the Machine Gods that would've eventually attacked this one."

He twirled in the air, a kaleidoscope of colors rippling across his body. "Also, I've wrapped the dimensional gap around my entire multiverse. That means you now have a lot more ground to cover. Keep up the good work!"

The dragon's jaw fell open in disbelief. "W-wait… I can't protect an entire multiverse from invasion! It was hard enough protecting a single universe!"

Tet tilted his head, thinking for a moment before snapping his fingers again. "Oh, alright, fine. I'll find you some help. In fact, I've already got a couple of ideas. But for now—it's just you. So… suck it up."

Great Red let out a long, weary sigh, lowering his head in resignation. "Very well. I'll be patient… but please don't take too long."

"Don't worry," Tet said with a mischievous grin. "It won't be long."

With that, he spun away, vanishing in a dazzling swirl of prismatic light as he headed toward his next destination.

Tet didn't waste any time. He went straight to Heaven's Seventh Circle and began analyzing Heaven's system. He muttered aloud, "So this is how it works… Humanity has complete free will, while the system itself deals with any potential fallout from their choices. Surprisingly simple, but effective. In this way, people don't need to be guided or told what to do at all. But on the flip side, if the world itself isn't properly managed, everything could spiral out of control. Alright, I think I understand it. Also, if I copy this system, I could potentially make my own Sacred Gears and possibly make my own version of Fate's Throne of Heroes… but I'll hold off on the second thing."

As Tet worked, Michael noticed the intrusion when an alarm went off in his office. He quickly gathered the other archangels, and together they rushed to the Seventh Heaven. However the moment they laid eyes on Tet, they bowed deeply and declared, "We welcome you, almighty Lord Tet."

Tet blinked in surprise. "Wait—how did you…" A moment later, he remembered that whenever he takes a world, higher beings can automatically sense his true nature. He waved it off. "Never mind. You four may rise."

Michael straightened, still reverent. "My Lord, if I may ask… what brings you here?"

Tet clasped his hands behind his back. "A few things, actually. First, I'm analyzing Heaven's system so I can use it as a basis to provide some of my other universes with true free will. After that, I thought I'd tinker with this one and fix its issues. For example, the rules regarding angels are far too strict. What is this—you can't safely have kids without falling, unless it's an act of pure love? That's borderline impossible. Sex itself is considered lustful… merely thinking about it is lustful."

Gabriel's voice softened with regret. "Yes, Lord. Unfortunately, that's one of the reasons we find it so hard to produce new angels."

Tet gave a firm nod. "Alright, I've fixed the system. Now angels are allowed to sin within acceptable parameters. You can basically act like humans as long as you don't go overboard and start committing murder, theft, adultery, or anything like that."

Uriel's eyes widened. "That's amazing."

Michael added with visible relief, "Yes—it's wonderful news."

Tet produced a scroll and handed it to Michael. "Also, Michael—here's a list of angels that fell from grace before I fixed the system, who to this day remain guiltless despite their years as Fallen. You should meet with them and see if they'd like to be angels again. If so, bring them to me and I'll handle it."

He paused thoughtfully, a sly grin forming. Well, I might as well go all in and create the Brave Saint system. Acting on the thought, Tet conjured several ornate boxes of playing cards and handed them to each archangel. He took a few minutes to explain their function. Their eyes lit up with joy, awed by the gift.

Michael's face brightened. "You've only been here a few moments, and already you've improved our situation by a lot."

Tet smirked lightly. "Yeah, well—don't be too excited. It's not free. Soon, I'll need you guys to participate in a war."

Michael froze, his tone edged with shock. "What war?"

Tet waved a hand, projecting the situation in Fate/Grand Order. He explained how it was being caused by a rogue Ars Goetia pretending to be King Solomon.

Michael's fists clenched. "That monster dares to not only wipe out humanity, but to frame Solomon for the act? Tell us when, Lord—we shall gladly aid in this endeavor."

Tet looked to him seriously. "I'll send Gabriel first. It wouldn't be good for all of you to disappear at once." Turning toward her, he asked, "Be ready? I'll return in a few days. I promise you won't die, but you will have a rough time over there. You'll also have a good time, I promise."

Gabriel bowed gracefully. "Thank you, Lord."

Tet turned to Uriel next. "Uriel, this is a list of people in the Church that I want excommunicated or arrested—whichever comes first. They are all very guilty." He handed him a sealed parchment containing the names of everyone involved in the Holy Sword Project.

He continued calmly, "I have let two of the Four Horsemen loose on Earth. They will be cleaning a few things up. I will soon visit the devils to inform them of this as well."

Michael's face tensed. "The Four Horsemen? Isn't that a little extreme?"

Tet's voice hardened. "There are some individuals that need to be handled with extreme prejudice. The two won't make any major moves for now—just be aware they're here."

With that, Tet clapped his hands once. "Alright, you kids have fun. I'll see you later." His form shimmered, and he disappeared into light.

Tet reappeared in a bustling Japanese airport, holding up a sign that said Asia. After a few minutes, an innocent-looking young woman with long blonde hair and gentle green eyes, dressed in a nun's outfit, approached him. She hesitated before speaking softly in Italian, her voice carrying both shyness and confusion.

"Excuse me, little boy, but how do you know who I am?"

Tet let out just a flicker of his divine aura, his expression calm but his eyes glowing faintly with power. "You tell me."

Asia's eyes widened in shock, and she immediately clasped her hands together, trembling as she began to pray. "Oh Lord, thank you for your mercy."

Tet waved his hand dismissively, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "Okay, none of that—I'm right here. You don't gotta open the prayer line. I might not be the original Big G, but those calls still get forwarded to me, you know?"

Asia blinked in surprise, lowering her hands, her face turning pink with embarrassment.

"Alright, Asia," Tet continued warmly, holding out his hand. "I have a new home for you. Will you accept it?"

Her nervousness melted into a radiant smile. With tears shimmering in her eyes, she took his hand and nodded. "Yes, Lord. Thank you."

In an instant, Tet teleported them to his divine realm. Asia looked around in awe at the endless skies and radiant light before her eyes landed on a cozy divine home. Tet gestured for her to sit across from Hestia, who was waiting at a low table.

"Asia, meet Hestia, my girlfriend. Hestia, meet Asia."

Hestia tilted her head curiously, her eyes softening as she gave a gentle smile. "Nice to meet you, young lady."

Asia blushed faintly and bowed her head. "Yes, miss. It's wonderful to meet you as well." She hesitated, looking between them. "Lord Tet… why am I here?"

Tet leaned back casually, folding his arms. "I told you—I'm finding you a new home. You have a few options. First off, you can become mine or Hestia's priestess… if Hestia wants you, that is."

Hestia chuckled softly and waved her hand. "Obviously I wouldn't mind having her."

"Or," Tet continued, "you could join Artemis's Huntresses. Finally, you could become the caretaker for the home of some of my champions."

Asia tapped her chin thoughtfully, her expression earnest. "May I have a few days to explore my options?"

"Of course," Tet replied with a reassuring smile. "I'll inform everyone in the meantime. The guest room's inside and down the hall."

Asia bowed her head once more, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Lord." She picked up her modest suitcase and walked toward the guest room, her steps light with hope.

Hestia watched her disappear down the hall before turning back to Tet, curiosity flickering across her face. "Who is that girl, and why did you bring her here?"

Tet sighed softly and explained everything—Asia's past filled with pain, her tragic kindness, and the uncertain but bright future that awaited her.

When he finished, Hestia leaned back, folding her arms beneath her chest. Her expression was conflicted, torn between warmth and caution. "On one hand, she would have been genuinely happy with her life… but on the other hand, that boy reminds me of my brother in his youth. Sure, he may be alright for the foreseeable future, but after a century or a millennium…" Her eyes narrowed slightly, her voice firm. "He's likely to become a monster. I approve of this action, darling. Just make sure she gets a good home."

Tet smiled faintly at her words, already determined to do just that.
