She felt a lump in her throat, and her hands become sweaty, but she tried her best to be able to hide all she was feeling.
"How did they know about this?" She asked herself, trying to understand everything that was playing around her. She didn't expect them to know her real name even when she was acting all weird.
She had expected them to have suspected her movement, but knowing her real name was something she couldn't get over. As she pondered over it, her memory suddenly tingled as though painting a picture.
"The maid!" She expressed inwardly, trying her best to be able to control her beating heartbeat. Her chest ached, and she stared at them with so many thoughts in her mind.
Asena could see the disbelief in their eyes and she knew no matter how hard she talked, they might not be able to believe her, but she was determined to make them believe her no matter what happened.
"You aren't answering the question. Who's Asena?" The one who has asked her before proceeded to ask her again, making her frown.
"I have no idea who she is, and to the first question you all asked me, I'm going to still tell you what I said earlier. I am Pamela. Why all the questions, huh?"
They paused, turning to gaze at themselves as though they didn't trust what she was saying. Well, she didn't care. They could bring on all they wanted, and she was sure she was going to tackle them all down.
"So you're Pamela right?" Another brother of hers spoke, making her turn her head towards his direction.
"Yes, I am…" She answered boldly, all fears in her voice were totally gone for now.
"Alright… Then, I guess you wouldn't find it hard answering some questions, would you?"
She squinted her eyes. She had no idea what the questions were going to be about, but she was prepared to answer them no matter what.
"Alright then…." He answered, turning over to the one who had asked her the question about Asena.
"Since you're Pamela, you wouldn't mind answering questions from your childhood, would you?" He asked, and she shrugged her shoulders.
She wasn't bothered. All she wanted was for her brother's to be able to trust her again. That was the only thing she hoped for.
"Great. What happened when we were little, and it was the pack's moon ceremony, hmm?" They paused, all eyes fixed on her, nothing but silence echoing inside the mansion.
Everyone hoped in anticipation that she got it wrong, but that didn't seem to be the case.
"Well you hurt your arm. According to the story you told dad, you fell while you were running, but in reality you go into a fight, and your hand got broken--"
He hummed, his eyes squinted to stare at her expression which was now neutral. He was trying to understand what she was trying to do.
"Too easy… What was the secret we both kept as kids…"
Asena smirked. This was way too easy. She had all of Pamela's core memories, and for some reason, any questions she was asked were easily answered by her.
"Well, we usually sneaked into the kitchen to get midnight snacks back then. Also, we went running together when we got older, but we don't usually do that any more…" She expressed, exhaling as she ran her hands through her hair.
"Haven't I proved enough to you, what else do you want to know? I already told you, I'm Pamela, and that's it. How about I tell you your favourite pie is apple pie, and you're allergic to coconuts, or--" she trailed off, sighing.
Whatever she did seem to work because she watched how their expressions softened.
"Hmm, we're sorry about the way we actually talked to you, you see, we have doubts, and--"
Asena interrupted them. "It's fine guys. I understand you all are concerned about me, but then I'm fine. But, there's something I think you should know."
"What's that?" They asked and she proceeded to take a seat.
"I finally followed Ray to the meeting, I have been trying to dig out some information, but what caught my attention was the dealer he was with. They seemed like the ones that attempted to kidnap me."
"What?" Her brother asked, and as soon as she confirmed, their expression turned dark. "How could he have put in that kind of danger, huh?" One of them asked and the other nodded in agreement.
"Don't worry, we're going to ensure that it never happens again. I need all of your help," she faced them. "I need you to help me capture the dealers."
They nodded in agreement, and at that moment, started to ask questions that would help them in the plans they were making.
She watched how her brothers made plans to protect her, and once they were done, and had concluded, she stood up, heading to her room.
"Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed, holding her chest. "You scared me!"
Phil immediately moved close to her, not allowing her to complain one more time.
"I'm so sorry you met me unannounced, but I had to deliver this information to you," he explained, grabbing her interest.
"The dealers have set another meeting, and they want you to attend. That's why I'm here, he asked me to deliver the message to you," he explained.
Both her brows were raised. "AHH I see. Can I know the place and time?"
"What?!" He exclaimed, his face pale, and his eyes staring at me in confusion.
"You're planning to do as he had asked?" He asked, and she nodded. After all, throws out why she wanted to get more information in the first place, so she could always be one step ahead than everyone else.
"Yes. Just as soon as you tell me the place and time-" Asena explained, but he shook his head.
"No, Pamela, I can't let you go. I wouldn't do that. Not now, not ever…."
