Aether Network: Aether is the name of the force that constitutes magic. It exists in several layers, like frequencies, throughout the world. Most mages can only access low to medium layers while the more powerful mages can access medium to high layers. The connection between a mage and their ability to connect with higher aether realms decides their rank (which can be found in the next page under The Ranking System).
Aether Realms
Aether Arts: Everyone can access this realm. These are the lower realms of magic which even commoners can easily access. This realm allows mages to do basic elemental manipulation, minor spell work, minor combat magic, and it requires wands and incantations to use.
Arcana Arts: Lower nobles and anybody higher can access this realm. It requires the mage to have a certain bloodline to have a special connection to the medium high to high layers of aether in the world. Magic in this realm includes enchantment, good combat spells, etc. This is further split into low and high arcana. Wands, staffs, and rings are used usually in this realm.
Primordial Arts: Reserved only for the best of the best of mages. Mages who can use primordial arts are usually very famous, or infamous, as well as targeted for their raw ability over Aether. No wands or words are needed to cast spells of this level, simply thoughts will do.
This is for the special chosen mages who can access the highest layers of Aether and supposedly according to legend "touch the heavens".
Note: Xavier was formerly an infamous Primordial mage who became known as the villain to many while to his followers he was their savior. In his new body, he will have access to the Arcana Arts while being able to possibly access Primordial arts during crucial moments as he retains memories of his first life. As the novel progresses, he will become even more powerful.
Soul Scripts: Soul scripts is the manifestation of our souls and how they are connected to the fabric of magic itself. Most mages cannot even see soul scripts, much less decipher them, only Primordial level mages are able to even have a shot at them. If you have control over soul scripts or are able to decipher them, you gain god like abilities.
