The chief stared obsessively at the delicate woman, as tender as a springtime begonia, her beauty matching the legends—so mesmerizing he couldn't even keep his eyes open.
"Mr. Hughes is involved in a murder case. We would like Mr. Hughes to come to the police station to assist with the investigation," the chief said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. He couldn't afford to offend Joshua Hughes before a conviction.
This time, however, the suspicion was the greatest, and someone had offered five million to ensure he couldn't leave Las Vegas. It was just him going with the flow. Even the strongest man in his grip had to confess, or how could he live up to his nickname as the iron-fisted chief?
