Atlas Hallow's chair slowly rotated, and his face, like an ice sculpture, exuded a suffocating indifference.
"Is there something you need?"
Could she not seek him out without a reason? But Hailey Hill dared not voice this question.
She only gazed at him with a hurt expression in her eyes.
"Atlas, I have thought it over. The man I have always loved is you..." Hailey's voice was not loud, but very resolute.
"You promised to give me a child to comfort me for my lifelong tragic experiences, and I feel you shouldn't go back on your word." It was not that she was foolishly obsessed, but she knew that only a child could keep Atlas Hallow forever entwined with her. What if she ended up the winner in the end?
"I've already said, it's impossible. If this child is forced upon me, it will not be blessed from birth. Do you want your child to come into the world unblessed?" Atlas coldly rejected, knowing that agreeing to this would only be the start of a tragedy.
