Madam Jiang, surrounded by maidservants and elderly women, alighted from the sedan chair in the small garden.
The sedan chair returned the way it came, and Madam Jiang, supported by her maidservant, proceeded towards the First Madam. She performed a courtesy, smilingly, and said, "First Madam." She paused and continued, "You've worked hard. How about I stay to help you? Although I'm rather clumsy, it would be easier than you doing everything alone. Let me lend a hand!"
The First Madam maintained a slight, proper smile on her face. Having changed out of her plain clothes, she now wore a blue-and-white overcoat. Although it was a bit more vibrant than what she previously wore, it was still somewhat understated compared to Madam Jiang's rich attire of a goose yellow overcoat and moon-white gauze skirt. She smiled at Madam Jiang, returning half of the courtesy, and said, "I dare not trouble you, but today the aunt is the most honored guest. Please do go inside."
