Just as Zhao Meimei was about to speak, Shi Yang whispered softly in her ear, "Meimei, did you talk to your parents before coming here to see me?"
Zhao Meimei's body stiffened abruptly, thinking she was in trouble, and quickly admitted her mistake, "I left a note to inform them."
Shi Yang gently responded, "Hmm," and asked again, "Do you remember when I was in college, you secretly came to the provincial city to find me behind your family's back? What did I tell you then?"
Zhao Meimei's heart skipped a beat, trying to argue, "I called my parents to let them know I was safe once I arrived."
Shi Yang bit her ear lightly, his teeth gently grinding, not painful but rather ticklish, "Hmm, you called when you arrived safely, but have you thought about what if something happened halfway? If anything really happened to you, how do you think I and your parents would feel?"
Zhao Meimei opened her mouth, unsure what to say.
