At three in the morning, Jiang Xiaoxiao saw the curtains by the balcony door flutter in the darkness.
Unable to sleep, she lay in the dark waiting for Song Moting to appear.
She didn't hear any sound, only the slight flutter of the curtains hinted at his arrival, then his dark silhouette appeared in the gloom.
She sat up and tightened her clothes; here she couldn't be as casual as she was at home. He moved silently across the room, accurately reaching the bedside.
He bent down and placed his mouth near her ear, making a silent gesture.
He began to search the room.
Jiang Xiaoxiao was already accustomed to the darkness, able to see clearly even in it. Song Moting calmly checked the entire room.
Not a corner was overlooked.
After five minutes, Song Moting came to her side.
"No bugs.!"
"I checked as soon as I arrived and found nothing of the sort."

"The previous room had them."
