Chapter 11 - A Vision

As the days passed, Elara proved to be a valuable addition to the group. She was quick to learn and eager to please, and she soon became proficient in the ways of combat and survival. Wayne was impressed by her determination and spirit, and he found himself growing fond of her.

Lyra, on the other hand, seemed to be watching Elara with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. Wayne couldn't blame her - Elara was still a mystery, and her past was shrouded in secrecy. But as he got to know her better, Wayne began to sense that there was more to Elara than met the eye.

One night, as they camped in a secluded valley, Wayne decided to ask Elara more about her past. "So, Elara," he said, as they sat around the campfire, "what's your story? How did you end up being attacked by those bandits?"

Elara's expression turned somber, and she gazed into the flames. "I was a slave," she said quietly. "I was born into slavery, and I was forced to work in a lord's household. But I was different from the other slaves - I had a... gift. A gift that made me valuable to my lord, but also made me a target for those who would seek to use me for their own gain."

Wayne's eyes narrowed. "What kind of gift?" he asked.

Elara hesitated, as if unsure of how much to reveal. "I'm a seer," she said finally. "I have visions of the future, and I can sense things that others can't. My lord used me to gain an advantage over his enemies, but I knew that I couldn't stay with him forever. I had to escape, and I've been on the run ever since."

Wayne's mind was racing. A seer? That was a powerful gift indeed. He looked at Lyra, who was watching Elara with an intense gaze. "What do you think, Lyra?" he asked.

Lyra's expression was unreadable. "I think we're in for more trouble than we bargained for," she said. "But we'll face it together, as a team."

Wayne nodded, feeling a sense of determination. They would face whatever challenges lay ahead, together. And with Elara's gift on their side, they might just have a chance to succeed.

But as they settled in for the night, Wayne couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around the campsite, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the feeling persisted.

Suddenly, Elara sat up straight, her eyes wide with alarm. "What's wrong?" Wayne asked, his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"I've had a vision," Elara said, her voice barely above a whisper. "A vision of danger, coming for us soon. We need to get out of here, now."
