On the Matter of Lunar-Aligned Resonance and Celestial Synchrony

It is imperative for all Skyfarers, scribes, navigators, and aspiring magi to recognize the grave and grand implications of a Lunar Dominance Event—a celestial clash wherein two or more of Astheria's moons are dominant simultaneously (one might still be in call as the other has started to return/sail, or one might be sailing as the other is returning).

In these moments, the skies breathe differently, and the very currents of the sky twist, surge, and sing.

I. Astral Definitions

Dominance is not a mere presence in the night sky. A moon is considered most dominant when it reaches its zenith (typically during the time period aligned with its gravitational and aetheric peak). Each of the Nine Flows corresponds to a lunar body whose rise, call and retreat govern sky currents, magic, and memory.

When multiple moons dominate concurrently, their energies resonate, often resulting in:

𖤍 Amplified aetheric surges and runic activation.

𖤍 Heightened gravitational flux, disturbing floating isles or gravity anchors.

𖤍 Temporal distortion (commonly misnamed "drift sickness" by novice skyfarers).

𖤍 Vulnerability in realm passages and ancient artifacts, many of which are lunar-attuned.

II. Recorded Effects of Lunar Dominance Events

[Lunar Dominance Event]

[Known Effects]

𖤍 Molun + Vael (occasional clash)

Runes hum without contact, enhanced prophecy, Echo Drift increases.

𖤍 Vael + Cerith (occasional clash)

Surge Storms leap a full class in intensity; skycrests fracture.

𖤍 All Three (rare)

The rare Triharmonic Reign—last observed in Chronaether Cycle 643. Riftborn sightings spiked; Nyxthir stirred in the Beyond.

Note: Multiple Guild ships had vanished during the last Triharmonic Event. Only one skylog remained, found sealed inside a hollow skyroot trunk, pages scorched but ink glowing still.

(Refer to the The Triharmonic Event compiled by Virell Nomaine for more information.)

III. Navigational Guidance

The Guild advises the following during Lunar Dominance Events:

𖤍 Avoid long-range travel.

𖤍 Do not attempt to open dormant realm passages.

𖤍 Keep aetherglass artifacts shielded unless conducting controlled resonance tests.

𖤍 Skylogs and thought-etched entries are highly recommended—memory becomes slippery.

IV. Cultural Practices

Many cultures across Astheria hold vigils or rituals during these events:

𖤍 The Abyssal Kin lights mirrorflame pyres atop their floating monasteries to "reflect the moons' gaze".

𖤍 Seers in the all over the Isles wear moon-shattered lenses to glimpse hidden truths.

𖤍 Some Aetherborn claim to "hear the first breath of the world" during such alignments.

Closing Remark

A Lunar Dominance Event is not merely a celestial curiosity—it is a moment when the skyremembers itself. In such times, tread softly, inscribe clearly, and trust not what your eyes alone perceive.

As etched upon the Vault of Reflected Moons, Caeloria reads:

"When the moons converse, the sky listens, and the world responds."
