Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

"Excuse me, I needed some paint, do you think I can find painting shop

in here?"

"Here no? Station 3. Go Station 3 Ma'am, at D'Mall."

"Okay. Sure I'll check that out. Thank you!" I told the tour guide I was

asking.

It's my first time in this beautiful island alone. Our family usually go

on vacation abroad and I went here when I was still in grade 5? Definitely I

couldn't really remember. I was here last January with my friends, so before I

go back to the corporate jungle I didn't want, I told myself I needed to go

back here. I needed to unwind and finish a sunset painting.

I'm just a little bit unlucky. As this was a very spontaneous trip. I

forgot my bag where all my paint brush. I told myself, I'll just get it in the

island. Surely there's someone selling it here.

I just can't find any shop in the map so I am so frustrated. I arrived

and checked in my hotel room at around 1pm. Now it's 4pm, and I thought

searching for painting materials will be so easy! I guess not.

"Maybe I should just get a chill vacation here and not paint."

As I walked in the front beach, I was looking at the blue waves that

looks so inviting. Should I get soaked first? No no, I have to finish this

painting first.

"Excuse me, do you mind to know where the painting shop is?" I asked a local

lady selling some bracelets.

"Oh, yes, just enter here turn right then straight to it you'll see the

store named Sunset."

Finally! I followed her instruction and yes, I did saw the very artistic

store named "Sunset" It's so adorable. Surely it's not completely filled with

stuff I wanted, they have the basics but there's a quote inside that says: "We

believe, simplicity is what you needed, not an extravagant or expensive one."

The store is indeed famous in the island it's a little crowded. I was

busy checking some little paints when someone bumped into my back.

"I'm so sorry." The guy said.

"It's ok." I just threw a glance and got back to checking which paint color

should I match. I'm thinking of only using 4 shades, so I need to pick the

right one.

The group of people who I am guessing is with guy who I bumped into were

already laughing. How rude are they. If they are not going to buy anything, the

very least they can do is just stay quiet!

"Do you think this shade of black will be better than the greyish one?"

"I think whatever color you choose will be the the perfect match. Art

doesn't really involve choosing the "right" shade, its sometimes can be the most

random color and yet will be perfect." I told him without even looking at him.

I didn't want any distraction as its almost sunset.

"Sorry, it's a gift I just didn't know what to choose." He spoke.

"She's gifted for sure, so whatever color that might be she'll be able

to use it." I ended our conversation and headed to the cashier.

I did saw his built from my side eye, but I didn't saw his face really.

It's almost 5:30 and I needed to set up and make sure to make it in time for

the sunset.

I walked out of the shop thinking what kind of scenery I wanted on my

work. Whatever I feel on the moment, I know it will be the best. Now I'm

heading to my hotel. My hotel room has a view of the sunset but I might want to

do a picnic style of set up in the front beach. Let's hope its not crowded.

I did check sunset should be around 5:47PM. It's already 5:21 so I kind

of have roughly 10 minutes to pick a spot and another 10 minutes to prepare and

start my background.

Hmm. Maybe near Dos Santos? That restaurant is in front beach but not really

a crowded one. It's a bit old school and does not allow any party so I hoped it

would be a peaceful area.

I arrived in there on time. It's a bit in the end of the island but

sunset will still be the same. Perfect and beautiful. I don't think there's any

dull sunset at all. I laid my picnic blanket and arranged my painting

materials. Today I wanted it to be something memorable, not my usual style just

to elaborate and express myself.

It's 5:45 and I just started painting the sides. The shade of orange

seems to be very intricate today. I don't know I get mesmerized at something I

do kind of see everyday. The difference is its in between the waves. Such color

I feel would best explain how I am right now.

I started painting when I heard a classical music from a nearby. It's

not that disturbing, kind of refreshing. All of a sudden aside from the waves,

I hear a violin playing. Of course it might not be a real violin. Who would

play a violin in a beach where it doesn't even belong!

I smiled. I am more excited to finish my work. All I can think of is the

shade of sunset I am seeing right now. My body is slowly dancing to the tune of

whatever is playing. It must be the restaurant owner. I remember eating here

last January. The two couples wanted to give their customers a taste of quiet

and mesmerizing beach. The island already offers so many partying so they kind

of wanted something for couples who wanted a quiet and chill place to dine.

"Yes! I'm finally done!" I said after almost an hour of painting. I put

my brush down and stretch my arms.

The lights turned on and I was surrounded by magic. Like as if the whole

place turned into a romantic place to be. I suddenly became aware of my

surroundings. I saw a man who was playing a real violin with closed eye. He was

immersed in it and when he opened his eyes, he looked straight to me.

He looks really familiar. He's now playing his instrument looking at my

eyes directly. Very sexy. Wait, wait, did I just say he's sexy? What on earth

Carli!

He is slowing down as if he's almost done too. He finished his piece

still looking at me. He put his violin down and smiled. I instinctively did a

slow clap looking meeting his eyes. I didn't want to back down. No, I can look

at his eyes too!

I shyly smiled. He waved. And I heard someone shouted, "Max! Time for

dinner!"

"Cominggggg" he said. Still looking at me. He hesitated so I looked down

and packed my bag instead. I wanted him to know it's fine I don't really care.

When I looked up again, I saw him packing his violin and getting ready to go.

I didn't want him to see me looking still so I busied myself with my bag

when in reality I am so done packing.

I saw him walk away. His back looks sexy too. Wait a minute! Carli are

you? Are you okay? I sighed. I've used sexy twice in this man. Who the hell is

he anyway.

Wait, his shorts looked familiar. I think I did really saw him this

morning tho. I heard my phone ring.

"Carliiiiiii, until when will you be in that island???????" My friend, on

the other line, getting excited. I think she heard the news.
