After reaching the clearing where the tree stood, the witch of the black forest said, "Look, the tree is draining the life force from the area to protect the spirit inside." She spoke with an anxious voice. Running up to the tree, i recognize the axe; it's one of the most iconic equip spells. Axe of Despair getting closer i put on my gloves and activate the two morganites protecting me from the axe and pull it out of the tree before wrapping Gleipnir around it and having it seal the energy of the axe. "Hey Slayer, please put this item in the closet in the room." "I will handle it when I get back," I said afterwards, and he manifested himself and took off toward the dorms.
As this was happening, witch, who was studying the tree, walked over to her, and she said, "that axe has been in the tree for a while; there is a lot of damage, and even though you removed it, the tree is still going to die the only thing we can do is bind the spirit to you so it can stay stable. This type of spirit is typically bound to an item; without that item, the spirit will fade away. she spoke in a hurried tone, similar to how a teacher would.
"So, we will have to bind them with something," I said, thinking about what I had to use. "No, this one needs to be bound to a living creature to remain stable; it draws energy from the spirit of the being it is bound to." "So, we can bind it to me; I should have enough energy, and since I'm immortal, they won't have to worry about me dying of old age. Plus, my spirit will continue to grow the longer I live," i said.
"So what do we need to do to bind the spirit to me?" i asked "first we will have to draw the spell circle around the base of the tree then we will need to use the energy of two spirits as tribute to power it, and then you need to offer some blood and your own energy for the spirit in the tree to latch onto you," she said
Lucky for me, I have two spirits; I don't mind using both. They tried to kill me, so it's only fair that I finish them off now instead of leaving them on their cards to recover. I need your guidance to create the spell circle, as I have only made a few small ones in the past month using human-made runes instead of those used by spirits. I said while pulling out the cards for Cassimolar and Trent.
Over the next few minutes we make the spell circle; it looks like the one from the dark magical circle spell. "Now, how do we start this?" i asked while finishing the last symbol. "Now you need to destroy the cards and kill the two spirits and the circle will absorb the energy of the spirits then you need to put some of your blood infused with your spirit against the tree for the spirit to juge you and if it accepts, it will then transfer to you" she said.
Doing what she instructed i walked into the center of the circle next to the tree and holding both in my orange morganite glove i overflow them with power from succumbing song causing both to glow orange before bursting into orange dust, with both spirits being destroyed and the energy being sucked into the circle then as the final bit of energy entered it,
it started to glow with golden light walking up to the tee i pulled out a small pocketknife and made a small cut across my right palm, small but shallow i focus for a second and send my energy to that area and putt it against the tree where the axe was, holding it there for a minute; at first nothing happened, but after a minute i felt something push against my palm, then a strong feeling of death, like i was back in Helheim, then i felt a hot burning feeling but it oddly didn't hurt; instead, it brought back memories of my most joyful memories.
One was my sister's graduation from college, then I was celebrating my mom's 50th birthday, where my sister and I took her on her dream vacation, and finally I won my first local tournament.
Then after my mind returned to the present, the feeling stopped, and the circle was no longer glowing. looking down at my hand i saw that there were now cherry blossom branches spiraling up my right arm, stopping right at my elbow, and then i herd a small chortle right above my right shoulder. Looking up, I see a small girl wearing a kimono with a red bow in her hair and a set of dog ears and a tail. I recognize her; she was one of the most infamous cards, apart from the roach, of course. it's Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.
"So, I hope you don't mind being bound to me; I couldn't just let you fade after the tree did its best to protect you," i said with a sheepish smile while rubbing the back of my head. She responded with a small giggle before i heard in my mind, "i don't mind i know that you wanted to help evan thoue i could sense some of your greed when you touched the tree but thats fine everything elese you shared showed me who you are at your core and that's someone that, while driven by greed and a small hero complex, but also has a kind heart that is capable of great charity and the ability to spread joy to those around you," she said with a thoughtful tone.
"So anything else that needs to be done before we go check the third area i wanted to go and check out?" I asked, still thinking about what Ash said: "Yes, would you please burn the cherry tree? When it's burned, it will release all the extra life energy in it back out to the other plants. You can use the fire magic you received from our bond to do it. Just think happy thoughts and let them be the fuel for your flame. the happier the memory or the stronger the feeling you have while casting it, the stronger the magic," she said, flying around the tree and back to my side.
Before i used the fire magic i heald my palm with time-tearing morganite, and then i thought about a joyful memory, and in my right hand a small, medium-sized flame sprang to life, and i started to burn the tree, starting around the roots, and let it slowly burn, and as it did, small waves of pink and green energy rippled out from it, and the dead plants started to come back to life, and as the tree finished burning, it turned to ash, and where it was was a small grave left with a bone-shaped stone with a worn-away name.
Making our way to the last area to check out for the day, the sun was starting to set checking the time on my communicator i saw it was already 8 o'clock. As we where walking i could her ash humming a song in my mind as she flew around the trees, while the witch of the black forest was walking next to me. On the way there, I sent out Pluto along with both the wolves to go see where the Light and Darkness Dragon were hidden. After a few minutes, we go to the next area.
As we walked around, I started to feel a strong, unknown energy, and I started to follow it to its source, finally coming to a small crater in the middle of the patch of forest. Next to it, bathed in moonlight, stood a tall woman with a golden headpiece wearing a gold and green neckpiece and a red gown that covered her whole body with a gold staff in her hand. She was staring up at the moon. Walking over to her i introduced myself in a respectful maner after a minute, she turned around before introducing herself as Cosomo Queen The Queen of Prayers.
"Did you know the moon of your world is quite the talkative one?" she said with a small smile. "no i didnt i didnt even know they could speak." I said with a little bit of confusion, "Oh, I thought with your soul you would be able to, as it's connected to one of the oldest and strongest forces out in the cosmos." She was a little surprised. "I didn't, but by soul, are you referring to my own duel spirit? I thought mine was replaced by the Runic monsters, but if I have my own, why has it not awakened on its own?" I asked.
"Yes, that is what im referring to i will have to get a closer look to see why do you mind if i use my magic on you to see why?" she inquired with interest. "By all means, go ahead," i said, stepping closer to her. After I stepped closer, she finally turned around, putting her hand where my heart is. She closed her eyes, and her hand started to glow with a shimmering light blue. I could feel a slight chill on my chest, and I felt super exposed as she studied my soul. After about five minutes, the glow started to fade, and she moved her hand off my chest as she took a step back.
"I see why it has not awakened yet; it needs more cosmic energy. Luckily, the meteor in this crater has what you need," she said, waving her staff towards it. "To absorb the energy, you will have to hold it in your hands and clear your mind, and the monster in your soul will do the rest. But be aware that you will experience the memories of your monster," she explained, using her magic to lift the meteor. "Now let us get started, and after it awakens i will guide you on how to use and control the abilities you will awaken after you're done.
"We should wait to do this until we go back to the dorm; it's already late and there is no telling how long it will take." I said I was lifting the meteor and making my way towards the dorm, and instead of going the normal way, I just got in using the window I left open earlier. Setting the meteor down next to my bed i pull out one canvas and set it up on the easel and walk over to the closet and get the axe of despair and start to paint a spell card border on the canvas before it sucks in the axe and leaves Gleipnir on the ground and the axe of despair card.
After putting the easel away and Gleipnir on top of my dresser along with my gloves, I turn around to see Ash has fallen asleep at the foot of my bed, and the Cosmo Queen and Witch of the Black Forest are setting up a spell circle with a cushion in the center. "what is the circle for?" i asked confused "the circle is to trap any energy from leaking out and stop any malicious spirits that would want to absorb the energy for themselves from detecting you," the queen said, finishing the last symbol.
"So what will you two do after this is over will you continue as just staying spirits or would you like me to make cards for you?" I said, "I would not mind you making a card for me to inhabit; I have already decided to join you back at the lake." wick said "and i have already said i will be teaching you about your new abilities and some of the magic practiced in my kingdom because i will need your help protecting the people of my kingdom when you are stronger so having a card i can use as an anchor to you during the day while im out leading my people before teaching you at night." she said before gesturing for me to take a seat and handing me the meteor after i sat down.
With meteor in hand i close my eyes and start to clear my mind i started to feel a chaotic energy start to enter my hand before travelling up my arms and into my chest and then from my chest i felt a bone-shattering "Roaaaaawr" as my mind was ripped from my room and into a dark abyss.
