"Since when did we turn to side characters."
Danso said while scratching his head.
"I wanna hit him too" Zuri said with a pout.
"It seems both of them have the best synergy.
Our goal is to simply hit him, doesn't need to be everyone." Aniyah exlained as her eyes darted towards them.
Neo looked at them and uttered "corner him.
Not too close to a wall, but not too far."
Then he turned to neto and asked
"Ever heard of a spin throw?"
Leo stared at the students ,three were coming at him while two stood behind.
'Plotting something?'
The muscular one struck with a punch ,he couldn't block as he needed to not get hit directly.
Parrying the punch he smacked him at his chest sending him backwards.
Suddenly two fists were at his face.
Due to the distraction he barely had any time to react.
A quiet breath slipped from his lips—then both feet flashed out, thudding into their chests.
The recoil launched him backward before their fists even met.
"What the—" Zuri froze.
"So fast," Aniyah breathed.
Both sliding backwards.
While he was midair Danso was suddenly on him.
His robust leg swinging wildly but directly upwards at his face.
He was stuck midair, there was nothing to use as a platform.
Leo streched out his hand and held onto the incoming leg, using it as a platform he spun midairand kicked danso off to the side.
Then a claw was at his face he swerved backwards and then Aniyah with a kick in the air at the back of his head.
He had to move his body down in a crouch to not get touched.
While he was still midair, Danso was suddenly on him — his robust leg swinging upward, a brutal arc aimed straight at Leo's face.
There was no ground to brace against, nowhere to push from.
Leo's hand shot out, catching the incoming leg; using it as a foothold, he spun in midair and drove a kick into Danso's side, knocking him off-course.
Before he could land, Zuri appeared in front of him, her claw flashing for his face. He twisted back, the edge of her strike slicing through the air where his cheek had been.
Then Aniyah was already behind him, her body spinning midair — a kick cutting toward the back of his head. Leo dropped low into a crouch mid-flight, the attack passing inches above.
The instant his feet touched the ground, Danso came again. Leo caught both of his legs midair, twisted, and flung him upward toward Aniyah before snapping out a sharp kick at Zuri.
She crossed her arms and blocked, the impact blasting her sideways.
A blur caught his eye — Neto being spun by Neo.
He recognized the setup a split second before it happened. Neo released, hurling Neto toward him like a missile. Leo shifted fast — a slip-step sideways — the rush of wind brushing his cheek as Neto's shoulder barely grazed him.
He turned to strike at Neo's approach—
—but instead of the sound of impact, a crack echoed behind him. His pupils darted sideways. The wall.
"Ah. The wall."
Realization came a heartbeat too late.
He swung his arm back, catching a glimpse of Neto bursting from the wall's surface, body coiled with momentum.
The punch slammed into his guard like a hammer.
The impact tore through his defense, the shock running up his arm as he was sent skidding backward, boots screeching against the floor before he crashed to a stop.
Silence followed.
A solid hit.
"The five of you did well.
Three of you kept me occupied — fierce, but precise in your attacks.
Your timing was so tight I didn't even notice being guided toward the wall… not too close to trap me, but close enough to limit my movement.
Then came your final move — two acting as one.
One the wielder, the other the spear itself.
A perfect strike"
Leo uttered.
Neo crossed his arms, glancing at Neto.
"That attack was meant for when the target has as little room to move as possible — distracted, but unaware they're being boxed in. The rest was his improvisation."
Neto scratched the back of his head, half-embarrassed.
"You weren't supposed to see us until I was already in the air. But you did — that's why you managed to dodge.
I was moving too fast to stop and was about to hit the wall.
Didn't see any point in crashing for nothing, so I crouched midair, connected with my feet first, and pushed off to redirect the momentum."
Zuri's eyes widened. "That's insane — with your normal body?"
Aniyah added, "The precision and focus needed for that… and you came up with it on the spot?"
Neto shrugged. "Didn't really think it'd work. I just tried it to see if it would."
Leo watched silently, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
'This kid... he has an intuitive sense.'
"The five of you did well — you hit me once. Mission accomplished."
He crossed his arms, eyes sweeping across the rest of the students. "The rest of you, on the other hand…"
A pause.
"You couldn't even scratch my clothes. That's bad."
A murmur spread through the class.
"I was planning to train you all today," Leo said evenly, "but I've changed my mind. Since you can't hunt a beast, let's see how well you can survive one.
Can you escape a beast hunting you?"
The air thickened.
"A beast hunting us? What does that mean?" a student asked, voice shaky.
"Wait, he's not seriously bringing one out, right?" another said.
"Ack! My nose freaking hurts!" someone yelped.
The brief laughter died as Leo's tone cut through the noise.
"If a real beast came, you'd all be dead in minutes. Don't worry — today's beast isn't a monster."
He raised his hand toward the five victors. "Or rather… beasts."
Eyes turned. Shock spread.
"Us?" Neto asked.
"What are we supposed to do?" Neo followed.
Leo smirked. "Chase them down. Think of it like tag — except you five are 'it' forever."
"And what happens to the ones we catch?" Danso asked, tone too casual.
"Simple," Leo said, grin widening. "Beat the crap out of them."
Panic rippled.
"Why is he encouraging this?"
"We're being hunted by them? I'd rather fight a real beast!"
"We're doomed…" someone muttered.
Neto rolled his shoulders, a faint smirk crossing his face.
"Tag, huh… sounds interesting."
