Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: A Perfect Capture Plan!

After entering the villa, Zhang Yang deliberately stayed near the building, patrolling around the area close to the entrance.

This position not only gave him access to the villa's interior, but also allowed him to eavesdrop on Bruce and Harrison's conversation.

In at most half an hour, night would fall. Then Zhang Yang could move.

"This bastard Pritt… with such a luxurious villa, maybe he really doesn't care about some collectible worth over 100 million dollars."

Harrison looked around the vast estate—lush plants, blooming flowers, fountains, a full pool. Everything was there. He couldn't help but feel a little envious.

He was genuinely jealous.

A gang boss could live in such opulence, enjoying glory and riches.

Thinking back to everything he had endured over the years—so many close calls with death—and yet all he got was more risk and more hustle.

What hurt even more was that now he couldn't even hold on to his reputation. He'd already become a laughingstock around the world.

Bruce gave an angry snort. His grudge against Pritt was now set in stone. He was determined to dig up everything on the guy. As long as he found any dirt, Pritt was finished.

"Harrison, should we just wait for Kaitō Kid to show up now?"

"Should we be doing something else to prepare?"

After failing three times, Bruce was starting to lose confidence.

His heart was restless. He couldn't shake the feeling that things were off.

Harrison glanced at the time. He thought it was absolutely necessary to prepare more.

"Bruce, we'd better figure out exactly what Kaitō Kid is trying to steal!"

"And we should get familiar with the layout of this place. Otherwise, once Kaitō Kid makes his move, we'll be seriously limited."

Bruce nodded seriously. Together, he and Harrison moved into the interior of the villa.

Hearing their conversation, Zhang Yang let out a soft chuckle.

"Harrison really is my old rival. Still sharper than Bruce."

Pritt's arrest had caught Zhang Yang off guard.

So his original plan had been scrapped. Now he had to play things by ear.

After Bruce and Harrison entered the villa, Zhang Yang waited for their footsteps to move to the second floor, then slipped in after them.

He was so casual that even the agents who saw him didn't think anything of it—just gave him a quick glance and looked away.

Before coming here, Zhang Yang had already memorized the layout of Pritt's villa.

So unlike Bruce and Harrison, he didn't need to scout out the environment. He already knew it like the back of his hand.

There was a safe on the second floor. That's where Pritt had stashed all his valuables.

Now that Zhang Yang was inside, all he wanted to do was find a room, sit down, and rest for a bit.

He'd wait until nightfall, and once Harrison and Bruce were back downstairs, he'd go upstairs and get to work.

Even though the plan had changed, it actually seemed even easier now.

He could hear Harrison and Bruce's footsteps upstairs loud and clear from where he sat below.

Judging from where they stopped, Zhang Yang guessed they'd found the safe.

"Bruce, this might be what Kaitō Kid is after."

So far, the safe was the only object they had found with any sort of security measures.

They hadn't seen anything else in the villa that looked particularly valuable. But Kaitō Kid never went after ordinary things.

So Harrison was 90 percent sure that the safe was the target.

Bruce didn't doubt it for a second. He stepped forward and tried fiddling with the combination lock.

"No good. It needs not only a mechanical code, but also fingerprint verification!"

"Even if we call in our tech agents from HQ now, it'll still take time to open it."

The safe was over half a meter wide and more than a meter tall—considered pretty large.

Harrison stared at the safe in deep thought for a while before suggesting something Zhang Yang hadn't anticipated.

"Bruce, maybe we should move the safe to a different location."

"And swap in a new one. Kaitō Kid should still be on his way and doesn't know our plan yet."

Bruce's eyes lit up. He fully agreed with Harrison's idea.

"We can use a decoy safe loaded with knockout packs. As long as Kaitō Kid opens it, there's no way he's getting away!"

"Fuck! Harrison, that's a brilliant idea!"

Bruce was thrilled. He was all in on the plan.

And his improvement made it even better.

Only downside—they had no idea their entire conversation had been heard word for word by Zhang Yang downstairs.

Bruce and Harrison hit it off immediately and called HQ to have a safe with knockout packs delivered right away.

Once they came downstairs, Zhang Yang calmly left his room and headed up to the second floor.

"What a perfect plan. Good thing I got in early, or they might've actually pulled it off."

Zhang Yang chuckled softly. He stepped up to the safe and, in under a few dozen seconds, cracked the fingerprint and mechanical combination.

At the very bottom of the safe, he found the Heshibi. A scan through his monocle confirmed it. With a flip of his hand, he stashed it in his Magical Wardrobe.

Zhang Yang silently closed the safe door. He couldn't leave yet.

The place was crawling with agents. Bruce and Harrison were still outside. He had to wait for the new safe to be delivered before making his exit.

Within just twenty minutes, FBI HQ had a new safe delivered.

Although its design didn't match the original, Bruce and Harrison believed that Kaitō Kid wouldn't know what the original looked like anyway.

So the differences didn't really matter.

They were even worried Kaitō Kid might not be able to open the safe, so they specifically chose one with just a mechanical code.

Looking at the replacement safe, Bruce asked, just to be sure, "Is the knockout pack synced with the safe's door?"

The agent nodded.

"Yes!"

"As soon as the safe is opened, the three knockout packs inside will detonate."

Bruce nodded in satisfaction and ordered the original safe taken away.

He also told them it might contain criminal evidence tied to the California Eighteenth Street gang and Pritt. He instructed the tech team to investigate thoroughly.

This time, Bruce wasn't just going after Kaitō Kid—he was going to bring Pritt to justice too.

Harrison stared at the new safe, his eyes full of excitement.

He was already picturing the moment Kaitō Kid opened it and passed out cold.

He believed this was the closest they had ever come to catching Kaitō Kid.

"See you later, Bruce, Harrison."

Zhang Yang smirked as he helped the agents load the safe into the vehicle and followed them out.

Once outside the villa, he quickly broke away and made his way to his car.

This time, he wasn't in a rush to post on social media. He had a bolder idea.

"Can't wait to see how long Harrison and Bruce end up waiting for me."
