Chapter 27 - 22

Rose left her house and started calling Lucy. "Lucy, I have left my house. I will be ready by the time you reach the store." Rose said to Lucy and hung up the phone. A car was following them from behind. She started walking fast without using the pedals. She was going to the place where the car had brought her. When she reached there, Rose said to Lucy, "We have to find that chair inside." I know, they went inside the broken cabin of the old man. There were many pieces of wood in the corner, and a bad smell was coming from the seats. They started searching. Rose was removing the wood pieces very carefully because there were many broken pieces of glass lying there. A piece of glass hit Rose's foot, and a sound came from her mouth. Lucy turned towards her and held her hand, asking, "Is something wrong?" Rose replied, "Rose was called by someone at that moment." "Hello!" Rose picked up the phone. "Hello! Rose, where are you at this time?" Jackup asked. "I'm at home at the moment," Rose replied very carefully. She put the phone down. Rose saw someone coming out of the door from her open pocket. It was Jackup. "Why are you at your house?" Jackup asked. "No," the door was a little open, but there was complete silence. Lucy went into the room because she knew what was going to happen. "Who is that?" Rose asked. "I was just asking you something." "Why are you following me from here?" Rose asked. He replied, "Rose, I didn't want to do this, but why are you here?

She didn't answer anyone's question. She turned around and left.

He asked her a question — she didn't reply either.

That day, he said to me, "You saved me that day."

Rose said, "No, you must be mistaken."

Jackup smiled faintly and said, "You don't need to lie. Lucy told me everything."

Rose said, "There was no need for that."

Jackup didn't say anything.

He asked, "Why do you dislike me so much?"

Rose said, "I don't dislike you. It's just that I don't want to get attached to anyone."

Jackup quietly kept looking at her.

Rose said, "The day you leave me, I don't want to feel broken again. That's why I keep my distance."

Jackup said, "Then why did you come to me that day?"

Rose said, "Because I had no other choice."

Jackup smiled faintly and said, "Now you can trust me."

Rose replied, "Maybe."

Jackup said, "May I ask you something? Why do you like to stay alone?"

Rose looked at him and said, "Because being alone doesn't hurt me."

Jackup didn't say anything.

Lucy came there.

Rose looked at her and said, "You came so early today."

Lucy said, "Yes, something happened. Can we go?"

Rose stood up quickly and said, "Let's go."

Lucy held her hand and said, "Wait, let me check something."

Jackup also stood up and followed them.

When they reached the car, Rose sat in the front seat while Lucy sat in the back seat.

Jackup asked, "Where are you going?"

Lucy didn't answer.

When they reached the store, the door was already open.

Some people were standing inside; everything was scattered around.

Apparently, someone had broken in.

Lucy said to the employees, "Do you know who did this?"

They shook their heads no.

When she saw this, she became very angry.

"Who are you people? Did you do all this?" Lucy said angrily.

"This girl misbehaved with us," one of the men said.

Jackup stepped forward and said, "No, that's not true. She didn't do anything. These clothes and everything here—she didn't take them."

Lucy, trying to stay calm, said, "Jackup, how do you know all this?"

Jackup replied, "Because I was here when everything happened."

Lucy was shocked.

Everyone started staring at Lucy.

She said, "Apart from her, no one here even knows me. If she hadn't told you, how would you have known?"

Lucy said, "You people are lying. You took the clothes and money."

The man said, "We didn't get any money. If you want to give it, fine; if not, we'll complain to the police."

Jackup said, "There's no need for that. I'll pay."

Lucy said, "You'll give them money?"

Jackup nodded.

Lucy said, "If you keep defending her like this, they'll take advantage of you."

Jackup ignored her and paid the men.

The man said, "If you hadn't given the money, we'd have taken this matter to the police."

Jackup said, "Now leave."

The men left.

Lucy looked at Jackup angrily.

He said, "Enough, Lucy."

Lucy walked to the table, picked up a glass, and threw it aside in frustration.

Jackup stopped her and pushed her away slightly to calm her down.

Lucy was about to fall when someone caught her from behind — it was Mile.

Lucy looked at him in shock.

Mile had been standing there for quite a while, watching everything.

Jackup turned around and saw that the men had come back with sticks and rods.

They started beating Jackup.

He tried to defend himself, but one of them hit him hard on the head.

Sara was with her, she started to say sorry, there is no need. Lucy said, "Brother, what are you doing here?" She looked at Mile and said, "Brother?" Lucy said, "He is my brother. Mile is Sara's brother and her second number brother." "Oh, so that's the thing," Lucy said. "Jackup and Rose were taken to the hospital. He gave Rose a bandage there and then brought her back. Rose came forward. "Do you like me?" Rose, who was sitting in the front seat with Jackup, said, "Yes," and I said, "Was that right?" Jackup replied. "Since when?" Jackup was lost in his thoughts when Rose gave him her umbrella. Jackup was left there. And they reached the store again. Sara, who was busy with work with Lucy, was sitting on a table with a chair. "You... you are doing what here?" Jackup said, "My bakery is right in front and I am also the owner." Mile replied, "Do you two know each other?" Rose said, "Yes, he is my brother." Mile said, "My name is Jackup Mack." "Oh, so you are also the same," Sara said to Jackup. Rose was a little surprised. "How do they know each other?" Sara was about to say something when Rose's phone rang. "Hello, yes, Mom, tell me!" Rose picked up the phone and said, "Okay, I'm coming. Mom is calling me. I'll meet you tomorrow." She left from there. On her way, she saw Sara outside, laughing and talking with Jackup. She had her hand on Jackup's shoulder. He took a deep breath and started to stare. "Who is she, brother?" Sara said to Jackup. "Yes, it's her." Jackup replied.
